Celestial 6.5" 2-way in-ceiling speaker
Origin Acoustics BOC62
The Origin Acoustics BOC62 is part of the Celestial BOC60 Series — a collection of in-ceiling speakers co-engineered by Origin Acoustics and Bang & Olufsen to deliver audiophile-grade sound while disappearing seamlessly into any interior. Designed for residential and high-end custom installation projects, the BOC62 combines a 6.5" Injection Molded Graphite (IMG) woofer with a 1" silk Tonearm tweeter and the ZipClip tool-less mounting system for fast, clean installations. The premium polished aluminum and white steel grille reflects Bang & Olufsen's philosophy of understated luxury, making the BOC62 as refined to look at as it is to listen to.

ZipClip Tool-Less Mounting
The ZipClip system allows the BOC62 to be secured in the ceiling without any tools — the bayonet-style clips engage automatically as the speaker is inserted. This is a meaningful time-saver on multi-room projects where dozens of speakers need to be fitted: installers can complete a room without switching between screwdrivers or torque settings. Equally important, the system is ceiling-material agnostic — drywall, plaster and timber all work without adapters. The result for the end user is a speaker that sits flush and rattle-free from day one, with no chance of loosening over time due to improperly torqued fixings.

Tonearm Tweeter for Wider Dispersion
Origin Acoustics' patented Tonearm technology pins the 1" silk tweeter at its geometric centre rather than mounting it on a standard bracket at one edge. This dramatically increases structural rigidity under high excursion, allowing the tweeter to play louder before distortion sets in and to maintain consistent off-axis response across a wider listening angle. In a living room or open-plan space where listeners are rarely sitting directly below the speaker, this translates to even coverage across the whole room — no hot spots directly beneath the speaker and no roll-off at the edges of the seating area.

X-Wave Woofer Surround Reduces Distortion
The X-Wave surround is a specially engineered suspension element that wraps the 6.5" IMG woofer cone. Its geometry absorbs frequencies that would otherwise reflect back and forth along the cone surface, producing harmonic distortion and colouration. By damping these reflections while preserving the piston-like linear travel of the woofer, X-Wave keeps the bass clean and precise even at higher listening levels. For music-rich environments — kitchens, open-plan living areas, dedicated listening rooms — this means bass that is tight and articulate rather than boomy or smeared.

IMG Woofer Cone for Controlled Bass
The BOC62 uses an Injection Molded Graphite (IMG) woofer cone, a material that combines low mass with high internal damping. Compared to a standard polypropylene cone, IMG resists the flexing that causes break-up distortion at higher frequencies, and its damping properties suppress unwanted resonances that can add coloration to vocals and instruments. The practical outcome is a speaker that handles both bass extension (down to 48 Hz) and midrange reproduction cleanly — important in a 2-way design where the woofer covers a wide frequency range before the tweeter takes over.

Bang & Olufsen Premium Grille Aesthetics
The visible grille of the BOC62 is made from polished aluminum and white steel, staying true to Bang & Olufsen's long-standing design philosophy of understated luxury. Where most in-ceiling speakers ship with plain plastic grilles, the BOC62's metalwork gives it a premium finish that suits high-specification interiors — hotels, luxury apartments, architects' own homes — where the client notices every detail. The grille diameter is 10" (254 mm), presenting a clean, minimal profile against the ceiling with no visible fixings.
