Chief PG2AW — Lockable steel security cage for ceiling-mounted projectors
The Chief PG2AW is a robust security enclosure designed to protect ceiling-mounted projectors in high-risk or publicly accessible environments such as schools, gyms, auditoriums, and conference rooms. Constructed from steel and finished in white, the cage fully encloses the projector and its mount inside a lockable structure, deterring theft and guarding against accidental or deliberate physical damage. It is directly compatible with Chief's RPA and RPM ceiling mount series and can also be fitted to standard 1" and 1.5" NPT diameter pipes for use alongside RSM and RSA ceiling plates — making it easy to add security to both new and existing projector installations without repositioning the projector itself.
Full Enclosure for Maximum Theft Deterrence
The PG2AW completely surrounds the projector and its mount in a locked steel cage, closing off access to the projector body, cables and mount hardware from all sides. In shared or public spaces — classrooms, school gyms, houses of worship, rental stages — projectors are a prime target both for opportunistic theft and deliberate vandalism. A cage that physically prevents removal and contact is a far stronger deterrent than security screws alone. The hinged access door is locked with security fasteners and can be further secured with optional padlocks, giving site managers a layered approach to physical security.
Fits Existing Installations Without Realignment
The PG2AW is designed to be added to an already-installed and aligned Chief RPA or RPM projector mount without disturbing the projector's position, zoom or focus settings. This is a significant practical advantage in environments where re-alignment is time-consuming or requires specialist access at height. Once the cage is fitted, the projector continues to operate through the adjustable front opening that accommodates different lens positions, and the cage itself allows for roll, pitch and yaw fine-tuning after installation — so image geometry can still be corrected without removing the enclosure.
Broad Mount Compatibility — RPA, RPM and NPT Poles
The PG2AW attaches directly to Chief's RPA and RPM projector mount series, which together cover a very wide range of projectors and ceiling configurations. It also mounts onto 1" and 1.5" NPT-threaded pipes, making it compatible with RSM and RSA ceiling plate systems. This flexibility means the cage can be specified across a broad installed base and used with standard structural pipe drops — a common approach in large venues. Note: the cage is not compatible with Chief's VCM series, so mount compatibility must be confirmed at the specification stage.
