The Chief PG1A is a heavy-duty steel security cage designed to protect ceiling-mounted projectors from theft and physical damage in high-risk environments such as school gymnasiums, auditoria, and public venues. The cage fully encloses the projector and its mount within a lockable enclosure, making it the primary choice for installations where equipment is accessible to the public or unmonitored audiences. It is directly compatible with Chief's RPA and RPM projector mount series and can also be fitted to installations using 1" and 1.5" NPT diameter drop poles (RSM and RSA series), making it a retrofit-friendly solution for both new builds and existing deployments.
Theft and Vandal Protection for Public Spaces
The PG1A fully encloses both the projector and its ceiling mount inside a rigid steel cage secured with tamper-resistant security screws, with additional provisions for optional padlocks. In environments such as school gyms, sports halls, community centres, and auditoria, projectors are routinely mounted in exposed overhead positions well within reach of projectiles or determined hands. A stolen or damaged projector means not just the hardware cost but also an unplanned service call, downtime, and potential insurance complications. Maintains Full Projector Adjustability
A key practical concern when caging a projector is whether routine alignment adjustments remain possible post-installation. The PG1A is engineered to preserve the roll, pitch, and yaw adjustment range of the underlying projector mount (when a mount with those functions is used), so the image can still be fine-tuned after the cage is in place. The adjustable front opening also accommodates different lens positions across projector models, avoiding the need to cut or modify the cage for odd lens placements. The hinged door gives unobstructed access for lamp replacement, filter cleaning, and input changes without removing the cage or disturbing the mount geometry.
