INOGENI REMOTE CAM

The INOGENI REMOTE CAM is a dedicated control keypad designed to extend the switching reach of INOGENI's CAM300 and CAM230 multi-camera selectors. Where the host switcher is rack-mounted or positioned away from the presenter, the REMOTE CAM gives an operator direct pushbutton control over camera selection and mixer configuration from a distance — without software, drivers or complex cabling. Connecting via RS-232 over a single RJ-45 cable (terminal block to RJ-45 for CAM300 and CAM230), it ships with a 10-foot Ethernet cable and is ready to use out of the box. Compact, TAA-compliant, and designed and manufactured in Canada, it is an ideal add-on for classrooms, conference rooms, live events and broadcast environments.

Extend Switcher Control Without Moving the Hardware

In many installed AV environments — classrooms, lecture halls, boardrooms — the camera switcher sits in a rack or at the presenter's table, while the person managing cameras may be working from a different position in the room. The REMOTE CAM solves this by placing all camera selection and configuration control on a compact keypad that can be positioned wherever the operator needs it. A single RJ-45 cable run to the CAM300 or CAM230 is all the infrastructure required. This removes the need for custom control systems or software interfaces just to switch a camera, making it a practical and cost-efficient add-on for any CAM300 or CAM230 installation where the switcher is not directly accessible during a session.

RS-232 Control via Standard RJ-45 Cabling

The REMOTE CAM communicates over RS-232 using a standard RJ-45 cable to terminal block connection — the same cabling infrastructure already found in most installed AV environments. For CAM300 and CAM230, the connection runs from the REMOTE's RJ-45 port to the switcher's terminal block (Pin 1: Receive, Pin 2: GND, Pin 3: Transmit, Pin 4: 5V supply). Importantly, the DIP switch 6 on the host device must be set to ON to supply 5V power to the REMOTE. This wiring approach avoids proprietary connectors or power supplies, keeping installation straightforward. A 10-foot Ethernet cable is included in the box for immediate deployment.

TAA Compliance for Public Sector Deployments

The REMOTE CAM carries TAA (Trade Agreements Act) compliance, meaning it can be specified and procured for US federal government, defense, education and other public sector projects where Buy American and TAA rules apply.
