Optic.ca NGQ100G-LR4-OC — 100G QSFP28 LR4 transceiver, NETGEAR certified

The Optic.ca NGQ100G-LR4-OC is a 100GBASE-LR4 QSFP28 optical transceiver engineered and certified specifically for NETGEAR switches. Designed for IT integrators, network administrators, and AV-over-IP installers who need reliable 100 Gigabit connectivity between buildings, distribution layers, or data centre rows, it delivers 100 Gbps over standard duplex single-mode fiber at distances up to 10 km — without requiring dedicated WDM transport equipment. Coded in-house by Optic.ca's Canadian engineering team, the module is fully compliant with IEEE 802.3bm and backed by a lifetime warranty, making it a cost-effective alternative to OEM optics with no compromise on compatibility or mission-critical reliability.

Guaranteed NETGEAR Switch Compatibility

Guaranteed NETGEAR Switch Compatibility

NETGEAR has officially partnered with Optic.ca as its certified transceiver supplier for next-generation M4350 and M4500 series switches. Each NGQ100G-LR4-OC is coded in-house by Optic.ca's engineering team specifically for NETGEAR EEPROM requirements and pre-tested before shipment — meaning no compatibility errors, no management-plane warnings, and no configuration workarounds when the module is installed. For network operators running NETGEAR infrastructure, this eliminates the guesswork of third-party optics and delivers the same plug-and-play experience as the OEM module, at a lower cost.

10 km Single-Mode Reach on Standard Duplex Fiber

10 km Single-Mode Reach on Standard Duplex Fiber

The LR4 standard transmits 100 Gbps by multiplexing four 25 Gbps LWDM lanes (1295.56, 1300.06, 1304.59 and 1309.14 nm) over a single pair of standard duplex single-mode fiber with an LC UPC connector. This means existing OS1/OS2 infrastructure between buildings or between floors can carry 100GbE without deploying parallel MPO cabling or external DWDM systems. In practice, a campus or multi-building installation can upgrade a spine-to-spine or MDF-to-IDF link to 100G simply by replacing the optics — no re-cabling and no additional optical transport equipment required.

Built-in DDM for Real-Time Link Diagnostics

Built-in DDM for Real-Time Link Diagnostics

Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) exposes live optical parameters — transmit and receive power (per lane), laser bias current, supply voltage and module temperature — directly through the QSFP28 management interface. Network administrators can read these values from the switch CLI or NMS without touching the physical module. This is particularly valuable in hard-to-reach installations (top-of-rack in a data centre, IDF closet in a ceiling space) where a failing laser or degraded link can be identified and acted on remotely before traffic is impacted. TX optical power is specified at −4.3 to +4.5 dBm per lane; RX sensitivity is −10.6 dBm per lane.

Lifetime Warranty and Tier 1 MTBF Reliability

Lifetime Warranty and Tier 1 MTBF Reliability

Every NGQ100G-LR4-OC ships with Optic.ca's lifetime warranty and is built to meet or exceed Tier 1 MTBF component standards — the same benchmark set by major OEM transceiver manufacturers. Modules are pre-tested before shipment for both optical performance and EEPROM coding. For end users running mission-critical networks — AV-over-IP backbones, enterprise core switching, or 24/7 data centre interconnects — this means a module that is expected to outlast the switch it sits in, with warranty support from a manufacturer that specialises exclusively in optical components.
