4 × 25G Breakout Mode for Network Flexibility

In addition to native 100G operation, the transceiver supports 4 × 25G breakout mode, allowing a single 100G QSFP28 port to connect four separate 25GBASE-SR SFP28 devices via a breakout MPO-to-LC cable. This is particularly valuable in top-of-rack deployments where a spine switch's 100G uplink ports are used to feed multiple 25G server ports — effectively quadrupling the port density without adding dedicated 25G hardware. It also provides a straightforward migration path as server counts grow.

Built-in DDM for Real-Time Diagnostics

The NGQ100G-SR4-OC integrates Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM), exposing live readings of transceiver temperature, laser bias current, transmitted optical power, received optical power, and supply voltage over the I²C management interface.
