SCP EFP-998MF-LSZH-15M — Male-to-female MPO EasyFiber jumper patch cable
The SCP EFP-998MF-LSZH-15M is a 15-metre male-to-female MPO EasyFiber patch jumper cable, engineered as an essential accessory within the SCP 998 HDMI-over-fibre ecosystem. It bridges the 998-DO-EXT dongle extenders with the main EFP-998 female-to-female channel cables via MPO couplers or keystone jacks, enabling flexible and modular long-distance HDMI installations. Built around SCP EasyFiber™ technology using Corning® ClearCurve® OM3 multimode fibre, it delivers superior bend performance and low insertion loss, making it especially suited to commercial AV, custom installation, and professional integration projects where routing in tight conduits or awkward pathways is unavoidable.

Male-to-Female MPO Polarity for System Flexibility
The EFP-998MF differs from the standard female-to-female EFP-998 channel cable by using a male MPO connector on one end and a female on the other (Type A polarity). This specific configuration is a prerequisite when connecting longer runs using MPO couplers or MPO keystone jacks: the male end plugs into the coupler, while the female end connects to the 998-DO-EXT pigtail dongle at the source or display device. Getting polarity wrong means no signal, so specifying the correct jumper from the outset is critical. At 15m, this jumper is long enough to accommodate most equipment-rack-to-wall or cross-room patch scenarios without additional extension.

Corning® ClearCurve® OM3 — Bend-Insensitive Multimode Fibre
The cable uses Corning® ClearCurve® OM3 50/125 µm multimode fibre, which is specifically engineered to maintain signal integrity when routed around tight bends — down to a 7.5 mm bend radius with less than 0.5 dB additional loss at 1300 nm. Standard multimode fibre would suffer significant attenuation at similar radii. In practice, this means the cable can be routed through conduit corners, cable trunking bends, and behind AV furniture without signal degradation or risk of fibre cracking. Insertion loss is rated at ≤0.7 dB and return loss at ≥20 dB, giving headroom for longer daisy-chained runs within the 998 system (up to 300 m for 10GbE).

LSZH Double Jacket — EN50575 B2ca Certified for European Projects
The outer jacket is Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) rated to EN50575 B2ca-s1a,d1,a1, one of the higher EuroClass fire reaction ratings for cables. This means that in a fire the jacket produces minimal smoke and no halogen-based toxic gases — a requirement for public buildings, hospitality venues, schools, and commercial offices across the EU and UK. The B2ca rating is sufficient for most plenum and riser installations without requiring additional conduit, simplifying the cable route design. Combined with the indoor/outdoor UV-resistant double jacket construction, the same cable works from the patch room out to an exterior wall-mounted display or through a rooftop conduit.
