SCP 14/2SPTC-DB-152M — Direct Burial Outdoor Speaker Cable, 500ft Spool
The SCP 14/2SPTC-DB-152M is a ProSeries direct burial outdoor speaker cable built for permanent landscape audio installations without conduit. Featuring 2 x 14AWG tinned copper conductors with a high 105-strand OFC construction, a gel-filled core and a UV sun-resistant LLDPE jacket, it is engineered to survive years of moisture, sunlight and soil contact. It is aimed at custom installers deploying high-end landscape speaker systems, outdoor entertainment areas, home theatre extensions to patios and gardens, and commercial outdoor audio. Supplied on a 152m/500ft wooden spool for tangle-free pulls on long outdoor runs.

True Direct Burial Construction
The gel-filled, weatherproof core and UV sun-resistant LLDPE jacket allow this cable to be trenched directly into soil without conduit. Water that would normally wick along a standard speaker cable is blocked by the flooding compound, preventing corrosion of the conductors over years of seasonal freeze-thaw and rainfall. In practice this means landscape speaker runs from the house to garden zones can be buried once and forgotten — no expensive conduit, no re-pulls after a wet winter, and no gradual loss of audio quality as moisture creeps into the copper.

Tinned Copper for Long-Term Reliability
Every one of the 105 strands per conductor is tinned oxygen-free copper rather than bare copper. The tin coating shields the copper from oxidation where the cable is stripped, spliced to landscape speakers or terminated in outdoor junction boxes — the exact points where buried speaker cables usually fail first. The result is stable contact resistance and consistent audio performance for the lifetime of the installation, even in humid or coastal environments where bare copper would quickly turn green and dull the sound.

Cold-Weather and Rodent Resistance
The LLDPE jacket keeps the cable flexible down to -20°C and passes a cold-bend test without cracking, so it can be pulled and dressed in winter without risk of jacket splits that would later admit water. The tough, dense jacket also resists gnawing by rodents — a common cause of failure in buried and outbuilding runs. For the end customer this translates to a landscape audio system that keeps playing through northern winters and rural pest pressure without mysterious dead speakers appearing each spring.

Dual Compliance: UL CMR and EuroClass Dca
The cable carries North American UL CMR / NEC CL3R riser ratings and simultaneously meets EU EN50575 EuroClass Dca-s3,d2,a3 for reaction to fire. That dual approval means the same reel can be used to transition from an outdoor buried run into a riser section inside a building without switching cable types, keeping the bill of materials simple. For the installer's customer this ensures the finished installation passes inspection on both sides of the Atlantic and complies with the EU Construction Products Regulation.

500ft Wooden Spool with Rip Cord
The 152m/500ft length is delivered on a wooden spool made from recyclable materials, sized right for typical multi-zone landscape jobs without the waste of a full 305m reel. A nylon rip cord runs the length of the cable, allowing clean jacket removal at each speaker drop without nicking the tinned conductors underneath. Small details like these speed up field terminations and reduce the callback rate caused by damaged conductors at buried splice points.
