The Chief CMS115W is a 15,2 cm Speed-Connect ceiling plate designed for professional projector ceiling installations in conference rooms, classrooms, houses of worship and corporate AV environments. Its low-profile, clean aesthetic keeps installations looking tidy, while the integrated cable management lets cables exit neatly through a dedicated port at the top of the plate. The plate accepts any Chief 1.5" NPT extension column and is part of the broader Speed-Connect ecosystem, making it straightforward to combine with Chief's range of columns and projector mounts. Lightweight aluminium construction keeps the assembly strong without adding unnecessary weight, and the included All-Points Security System locking hardware protects against opportunistic tampering at the column connection point.
Integrated Cable Management
The CMS115W features a dedicated cable exit port at the top of the ceiling plate, allowing AV and power cables to be routed cleanly up through the plate and into the ceiling void rather than hanging exposed alongside the column. In practice this means cleaner, more professional-looking installations in venues such as conference rooms, classrooms and houses of worship — where visible cable runs are unacceptable. The design also simplifies future servicing, since cables follow a predictable, organised path rather than being bundled haphazardly around the mount.
All-Points Security System
Chief's All-Points Security System uses proprietary locking hardware at the column connection point to prevent the extension column — and the projector mounted to it — from being removed without authorisation. This is a genuine decision-relevant feature in shared or public-access spaces such as university lecture halls, training rooms and hospitality venues, where unsecured projector mounts are a theft risk. The lock gives facilities managers confidence that the installation will remain intact between service visits, without requiring additional third-party security hardware.
Broad 1.5" NPT Compatibility
The CMS115W accepts any Chief extension column or accessory with a standard 1.5" NPT thread, including the full range of CMS Speed-Connect fixed and adjustable columns in lengths from 7,6 cm to well over 300 cm. This makes the ceiling plate a long-term, flexible foundation: the same plate can be reused if the projector is swapped out for one requiring a different drop height, simply by substituting the column. It also integrates cleanly into pre-configured Chief projector kits, simplifying ordering for standard room layouts.
