120W stereo-mono mixer amplifier with DSP and IP control
Atlona AT-GAIN-M120
The Atlona AT-GAIN-M120 is a professional 120-watt mixer amplifier designed for education and commercial AV environments where flexible, controllable audio distribution is required. A mode selector switch enables either two channels of 60 W into 4 or 8 ohms for low-impedance speaker systems, or a single mono channel at 120 W over 70 V or 100 V for distributed speaker networks. Four fully configurable analog inputs accept mono or stereo signals and can be switched between mic level (with phantom power) and line level, making it equally suited to classroom microphone reinforcement, meeting room background audio, and facility paging systems. Built-in DSP, auto-ducking, IP and RS-232 control, and an optional Dante/AES67 network audio card round out a highly adaptable platform for modern AV system design.

Flexible Low and High Impedance Output
A rear-panel mode selector switch lets the GAIN-M120 operate as either a stereo amplifier (2×60 W into 4 or 8 ohm low-impedance speakers) or a mono 70V/100V amplifier (120 W) for distributed high-impedance speaker networks. This dual capability removes the need for separate amplifiers in installations that mix room-level near-field speakers with building-wide paging loops. A classroom might drive local ceiling speakers in stereo during lessons and still feed the school's distributed 70V system for PA announcements — all from a single device in the rack.

Fully Configurable Four-Input Mixer
Each of the four analog inputs can be individually configured for mono or stereo operation and switched between mic level (with 48V phantom power for condenser microphones) and line level. This means a single unit can simultaneously accept a wireless receiver on one input, an AV switcher's line output on another, and a lapel mic on a third — all without an external mixer. Per-input gain and ducking settings managed through the built-in DSP allow each source to behave correctly in context, reducing the total device count and cabling in any rack.

Integrated DSP with Auto-Ducking and Per-Output EQ
The built-in DSP delivers per-input gain control and ducking thresholds, plus per-output parametric EQ, filters, time delay, and level trim. Auto-ducking is particularly valuable in classroom and lecture environments: when a teacher speaks into the priority microphone input, program audio (video playback, background music) automatically attenuates to a configurable level and returns to full level when the mic goes quiet. Per-output delay compensation corrects timing mismatches between speakers at different distances in the room, keeping the sound coherent without requiring an external DSP processor.

IP and RS-232 Control with Mute via Contact Closure
Volume, muting, and EQ are all controllable over TCP/IP or RS-232, making the GAIN-M120 a natural fit for rooms already running a control system. The mute input also accepts a dry contact closure, so a door sensor, occupancy sensor, or simple wall button can silence the system instantly without any programming. The unit integrates directly with Atlona's Velocity Control System, meaning drivers are already available and the learning curve for system commissioning is minimal. A standby mode, configurable from 5 to 25 minutes of inactivity, reduces power draw automatically in rooms that are not in use.

Optional Dante and AES67 Network Audio via AT-GAIN-NET
An expansion slot on the unit accepts the optional AT-GAIN-NET card, which adds a Dante and AES67 dual-channel audio-over-IP bridge. Once fitted, the amplifier can receive two audio channels directly from any Dante-connected DSP, OmniStream AV encoder, or AES67 device on the same network — eliminating long analog cable runs between AV rack and amplifier. The card is field-installable, so it can be added post-deployment when a campus migrates to networked audio without having to replace the amplifier itself. Routing configuration is handled via the standard Dante Controller software.

Class-D Efficiency with Fanless Convection Cooling
The Class-D amplifier topology converts power efficiently, keeping heat generation low enough that the unit is fully convection cooled — no fans are needed. This matters in quiet environments such as classrooms, boardrooms, and library spaces where fan noise would be audible during pauses in content. It also means one fewer mechanical component that can fail over time, reducing long-term maintenance. The 1RU half-rack enclosure ships with both short and long rack ears plus a dual-mounting plate, covering the most common rack installation scenarios out of the box.
