240W stereo-mono mixer amplifier for commercial AV
Atlona AT-GAIN-M240
The Atlona AT-GAIN-M240 is a professional 240-watt Class D mixer amplifier engineered for education and commercial AV environments where reliable, flexible audio distribution is essential. It supports low-impedance stereo operation (two channels at 120 W each into 4 or 8 ohms) as well as high-impedance mono distribution (240 W at 70V or 100V), making it equally suited for boardrooms, lecture halls, and distributed-speaker systems. With four individually configurable mic-line inputs — including 48V phantom power — an on-board DSP featuring parametric EQ, delay, filters, and ducking, plus IP, RS-232, and contact closure control, the GAIN-M240 integrates cleanly into both Atlona Velocity and third-party control systems. An optional Dante-AES67 network audio card (AT-GAIN-NET) can be added in the field, future-proofing the installation without replacing the unit.

Flexible Output Modes: Stereo or 70V-100V
A single mode selector switch toggles the AT-GAIN-M240 between two fundamentally different speaker topologies. In stereo mode, it delivers 120 W per channel into 4 or 8 ohm loads — ideal for near-field or high-quality speech reinforcement in conference rooms and classrooms. In mono mode, the amplifier drives 240 W into a 70V or 100V distributed line, supporting large chains of ceiling or wall speakers spread across open-plan offices, corridors, or campus zones. This dual-mode design means one SKU covers both close-field and wide-area distribution projects, reducing the need to stock and specify separate amplifier models for different room types.

Four Configurable Inputs with Phantom Power
Each of the four analog inputs can be independently set as microphone or line level (mono or stereo), giving integrators the freedom to connect lectern microphones, wireless receivers, media players, and conference systems to a single amplifier without patch bays or additional preamps. Microphone inputs support 48V phantom power, enabling condenser microphones to be wired directly — a significant time and cost saving in education installs where condenser ceiling mics are common. Input sensitivity spans from −50 dBV (mic) up to +4 dBV (professional line), covering virtually every source encountered in commercial AV.

On-Board DSP with Ducking and Delay
The integrated DSP eliminates the need for an external processor in straightforward installs. Per-input gain and ducking let the amplifier automatically lower background music or program audio whenever a microphone signal is detected — critical in lecture halls and retail environments where intelligibility of announcements must take priority. A 5-band parametric EQ (20 Hz to 20 kHz, Q 1–15, gain −36 to +12 dB) per output, selectable high- and low-pass Butterworth filters (6 to 30 dB/oct slopes), and up to 30 ms of delay (in 0.1 ms steps) allow the system to be tuned for room acoustics and aligned for delayed speaker clusters without any external DSP hardware.

Multi-Protocol Control Integration
The AT-GAIN-M240 exposes IP (Ethernet), RS-232, and contact closure interfaces simultaneously, enabling control from Atlona Velocity as well as Crestron, AMX, Extron, or any third-party control system that supports TCP-IP or serial commands. Mute can be triggered via contact closure, IP, or RS-232 — useful for fire alarm integration or room-booking systems that must silence audio on occupancy events. An optional AT-GAIN-VOL wall plate connects for simple per-zone volume control without requiring a full control system, making the amplifier equally viable in rooms that need basic local control and rooms that are part of a centralised managed estate.

Field-Upgradeable Dante and AES67 Networking
The optional AT-GAIN-NET card plugs into the amplifier's expansion slot without returning the unit to a workshop, adding two channels of Dante or AES67 audio over IP. This is particularly valuable in campuses and enterprise buildings where AV over IP infrastructure is being rolled out in phases: the amplifier can be installed now and upgraded to networked audio when the network backbone is ready. The card also accepts audio from Atlona OmniStream AV encoders, allowing video-with-audio AV-over-IP endpoints to feed directly into the amplifier without a separate audio extractor. Routing between Dante devices can be managed via API commands, removing the need to open a separate Dante Controller session for straightforward route changes.

Energy-Saving Standby Mode
A dedicated standby mode reduces power draw when the amplifier is idle — a relevant consideration in education and corporate installs where energy management policies and sustainability targets increasingly affect product selection. The amplifier can be placed into and woken from standby via the same IP, RS-232, or contact closure control paths used for other operations, so it fits naturally into room-scheduling and automation workflows that power systems down between sessions.
