The Chief FRA Freestyle Flat Panel Rotation Adapter is designed for AV integrators and installers who need maximum creative freedom when building video wall configurations. Compatible with both ConnexSys and Fusion mount families — including wall, ceiling, and freestanding variants — the FRA adds a rotation axis to any display installation, enabling landscape-to-portrait switching and complex multi-screen arrangements. Positive lockouts at 15-degree increments ensure precise, repeatable positioning, while the ability to overlap displays (using the optional FCADA depth accessory) opens up advanced tiling layouts. With a 10-year limited warranty and a robust weight capacity of up to 56.7 kg when used with ConnexSys, this adapter is built for demanding commercial AV environments.

360° Range from a Single Adapter

The FRA provides 90 degrees of mechanical rotation, but because it can be installed in four different base orientations, the effective range spans the full 360 degrees. Positive lockouts click into place at every 15-degree increment, so displays are held firmly at the chosen angle rather than drifting over time. For a video wall installation this means individual panels can be precisely aligned — including fine-tuning after initial mounting — without loosening fasteners or risking unwanted movement during the life of the installation.

Broad Mount Family Compatibility

The FRA works across Chief's ConnexSys and Fusion ecosystems — covering wall, ceiling, and freestanding mounts. This breadth of compatibility means a single SKU covers a wide range of project types: direct-wall video walls, ceiling-hung portrait arrays, and free-standing kiosk-style configurations. Installers do not need separate rotation accessories for each mount type, which simplifies stock management and reduces the risk of ordering mismatches on site. Weight capacity scales with the host mount: up to 56.7 kg with ConnexSys, and up to 24.95 kg with single-stud Fusion configurations.

Landscape-to-Portrait Without Re-Mounting

Switching a display between landscape and portrait orientation traditionally requires unmounting the panel and repositioning the entire bracket. The FRA makes this a tool-based adjustment at the adapter itself, saving significant labour time when a customer changes their content strategy or repurposes a display zone. For retail or corporate environments where seasonal or campaign-driven layout changes are common, this adaptability directly reduces installation costs over the lifetime of the system.

Overlapping Display Layouts with FCADA

When combined with the optional Chief FCADA Fusion Depth Accessory, the FRA supports overlapping display configurations — a design technique used in high-impact video walls where bezels of adjacent screens are intentionally staggered in depth to create a stacked or cascading visual effect. This level of creative control is normally associated with custom fabrication; the FRA and FCADA combination delivers it with standard, warrantied Chief hardware. This makes it practical for exhibition, broadcast, and high-end retail environments where visual differentiation matters.

Universal VESA Compatibility

The FRA supports VESA mounting patterns of 200×200, 200×300, 200×400, 300×300, and 400×400 mm. With the addition of Chief's FHB5036 or FHB5037 bracket accessories, compatibility extends to 600×400 mm patterns found on larger commercial displays. This range covers the vast majority of flat panels used in professional AV installations, meaning the adapter does not become a limiting factor when specifying for large-format or high-load screens. The adapter itself measures 43.9×43.9×2.0 cm (H×W×D) — a low-profile form factor that keeps the overall wall-to-panel depth to a minimum.
