The LS445 decodes 4K video at 8-bit 60p (H.265) or 10-bit 30p (H.264), covering the full range of 4K display resolutions up to 3840x2160 — including custom aspect ratios. This separates it clearly from its sibling LS425, which tops out at Full HD. In practice, a display showing 4K promotional video or menu boards benefits from noticeably sharper text and imagery, especially on larger panels viewed from close distance. Flexible USB-C Connectivity for Interactivity and Control
The single USB-C port operates in both host and device mode and is the LS445's gateway to interactivity and external control. Via BrightSign's accessory cable ecosystem, it supports: a USB-C to GPIO 12-pin cable (for sensor inputs or relay outputs), a USB-C to USB-A and 3.5mm serial cable (for device control such as display power), and a USB-C to IR receiver cable. This means touch screens, button pads (BP200/BP900), serial-controlled displays, and IR-triggered events are all achievable through one port — a practical advantage for kiosk and interactive retail deployments where wiring must be minimal. The port also supports USB-A peripherals via adapter, such as the BrightSign Mobile USB modem for cellular failover connectivity.
Optional Wi-Fi with Internal M.2 Module
The LS445 includes an internal M.2 E Key slot for an optional dual-antenna Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module. This makes wireless networking an add-on rather than a cost you always pay — wired-only deployments keep the price down, while installations where running Ethernet is impractical can add Wi-Fi without changing the player. The two external antenna connectors are already present on the chassis, so no modification is needed when the module is fitted.
