Slim 4K HDBaseT extender kit, 70m

Superio SUP-BB-HDBT70-KIT

The Superio SUP-BB-HDBT70-KIT is a slim HDBaseT extender kit from the Blue Boxes range, purpose-built for professional AV installations in both public and private environments. It transmits HDMI signals up to 70m at 1080p or 40m at 4K/60Hz (4:2:0 8-bit) over a single Cat5e or Cat6 UTP cable, while simultaneously carrying bidirectional PoE, RS-232 serial control, and bidirectional IR. The ultra-compact form factor lets installers mount the units discreetly behind displays, under tables, or in racks. All accessories — IR emitter, IR receiver, and rack-mounting ears — are included in the box, so nothing extra needs to be sourced before the job starts.

4K over HDBaseT — Know the Limits

4K over HDBaseT — Know the Limits

The SUP-BB-HDBT70-KIT carries 4K/60Hz (4:2:0 8-bit) signals at up to 40m, and 1080p at up to 70m, over a single Cat5e or Cat6 UTP cable — no fibre, no proprietary cabling required. The 10.2 Gbps HDBaseT bandwidth is sufficient for most commercial signage and presentation use cases, but is limited to 4:2:0 colour subsampling at 4K; projects that demand full 4:4:4 at 4K will need a higher-bandwidth solution. For conference rooms, digital signage, education, and hospitality applications where 4K sources run to a single display across a room or moderate cable run, the distance and quality trade-offs are entirely practical. Knowing where the 40m threshold sits avoids surprises at commissioning time.

Bidirectional PoE — One PSU for Both Units

Bidirectional PoE — One PSU for Both Units

A single 12V power supply can be connected at either the transmitter or the receiver end — whichever is more accessible. The HDBaseT link then feeds power to the other unit over the same Cat cable, eliminating the need to run mains power to both locations. In practice this means the PSU can stay in the rack or near the source, and the display-side unit is powered entirely over the Cat cable — no electrician needed at the screen end, and no second wall outlet to find. This significantly simplifies installations where the display is ceiling-mounted or in a hard-to-reach location.

One cable. 70m HDMI + power + control. Everything included.

RS-232 and IR Control Pass-Through

RS-232 and IR Control Pass-Through

RS-232 serial control and bidirectional IR are both carried over the same Cat cable as the video and power signals. RS-232 lets a control system (e.g. Crestron, AMX, Q-SYS) send commands directly to the display — power on-off, input switching, brightness — without a separate control cable. Bidirectional IR means the end user can point a remote at the display-side IR receiver and have commands relayed back to a source device at the other end, or vice versa. Both the IR emitter and IR receiver are included in the box, so no additional accessories are required to set up control. This matters in meeting rooms and classrooms where display control via the installed AV system is expected from day one.

Ultra-Slim Form Factor for Tight Installs

Ultra-Slim Form Factor for Tight Installs

The transmitter and receiver units are intentionally slim, making them easy to attach directly to the back of a flat panel display with the included mounting ears, tuck under a conference table, or slot into a rack without occupying a full rack unit. In installations where equipment visibility matters — corporate showrooms, educational environments, retail digital signage — this form factor keeps the build looking clean without requiring a dedicated AV cabinet. Mounting ears are included in the box, so no additional hardware is needed to secure the units on site.
