Compact 22-inch webOS Full HD signage display
LG 22SM3G-B
The LG 22SM3G-B is a compact 21.5-inch standard signage display for places where a large screen would be impractical, such as shelf-edge promotions, reception desks, meeting-room door signs, lifts and small retail or hospitality points of information. A built-in quad-core SoC running LG webOS plays content on its own, so no external media player is needed. The embedded content scheduling, USB plug and play and built-in Wi-Fi keep single-screen deployments simple. Control Manager, SNMP and LG's SuperSign tools let operators monitor and manage larger fleets from one place. The slim, even-bezel chassis can be mounted in landscape or portrait.

Standalone Playback with webOS 4.1
A built-in quad-core SoC runs LG webOS 4.1, so the display plays video, images and web content without a separate media player. It offers 8 GB of internal storage, local content scheduling, gapless playback, Play via URL and a Screen Share function. For the end user this means fewer boxes, cables and failure points behind a small screen, and content can be updated from a USB stick. That suits shelf-edge, counter and meeting-room installations where there is no room for extra hardware.

Fleet Monitoring and Remote Control
The display supports LG Control Manager, SNMP, Crestron Connected, Group Manager, Wake on LAN, status mailing and ConnectedCare, and it works with SuperSign CMS and SuperSign Control+. RS-232C and LAN control let it plug into existing building or AV control systems. Operators can check status and push settings to many screens in different locations from one browser. That cuts site visits and speeds up fault response across multi-location rollouts such as store chains. The datasheet also lists a Fail over function, which switches to a backup source to help keep content on screen.

Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Beacon
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are built in, so the display can join wireless networks where cabling isn't practical. It also supports Beacon and webRTC. The datasheet shows one RJ45 LAN input and no LAN out or daisy chain, so each screen needs its own network connection or a wireless link. Wireless connectivity is useful for temporary or retrofit locations such as pop-up shops, and Beacon support lets shop managers push proximity-based information to visitors' phones.

Portrait or Landscape, 16-7 Duty
The display is rated for 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, and supports both landscape and portrait mounting with screen rotation and external input rotation. That duty rating suits shops, offices and venues that run during opening hours. It is not a 24-7 rating, so installations that need round-the-clock operation should consider a different model. The 100 x 100 mm VESA interface and a depth of 53.8 mm make wall mounting simple. Portrait mode suits menu boards and directory signs.

Multi-Source Layouts and Security Support
Picture-in-picture, 2-way picture-by-picture, 2 video tags, HDMI-CEC, boot logo and no-signal images help build a branded, flexible screen layout from a single compact unit. Two HDMI inputs with HDCP 2.2 allow a local source to be mixed with webOS content. LG states that security updates are supported for 5 years from product launch, which matters to IT teams that put networked signage on corporate networks. Image-sticking minimisation is also listed.
