50-inch UHD signage for 24-7 commercial use
LG 50UL5Q-M
The LG 50UL5Q-M is a professional 50-inch UHD digital signage display built for continuous 24-7 commercial operation. Powered by the LG webOS 6.1 smart signage platform, it runs scheduling, content management and remote monitoring natively — without requiring an external media player. With 500 nits of brightness, a high-contrast VA panel and wide 178° viewing angles, content stays vivid and legible from virtually any position. The even 10.8 mm bezel lends a clean, uniform appearance whether installed in landscape or portrait orientation. Designed for retail stores, corporate lobbies, hospitality venues, transportation hubs and healthcare facilities, it combines image quality with enterprise-grade security and broad CMS compatibility.

Built-In webOS 6.1 Smart Signage
The 50UL5Q-M runs LG's webOS 6.1 platform entirely on-board, eliminating the need for an external media player. It handles local content scheduling, USB Plug & Play playback, Play via URL, group management and gapless playback out of the box. The intuitive GUI means staff can configure playlists and scheduling without specialist IT knowledge. For operators managing multiple sites, the display integrates with LG SuperSign CMS, SuperSign Cloud and mobile CMS tools — as well as third-party systems via SNMP, Control Manager and Crestron Connected — so it slots into whichever management infrastructure is already in place. The result is a fully standalone signage solution that reduces installation cost and on-site hardware.

True 24-7 Operation Rating
The UL5Q-M series is rated for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week continuous operation, backed by a minimum panel lifetime of 50,000 hours. Conformal coating on the power board provides additional protection against humidity and dust ingress — a meaningful advantage in retail, transport and food-service environments where air quality is not controlled. LG also supports an optional extended warranty bringing total coverage up to 5 years. For venue operators running always-on content in lobbies, concourses or shop windows, this rating means the display will not need scheduled daily shutdowns to protect panel longevity.

Adaptive Built-In Brightness Sensor
A front-mounted ambient light sensor continuously monitors the surrounding environment and adjusts the display's brightness automatically. In a brightly lit showroom or near a window, the panel lifts output to maintain readability; in a dimly lit corridor at night, it reduces backlight intensity to save power and reduce glare. This happens without any manual intervention, which is particularly valuable in unmanned installations or digital signage that runs around the clock. The Smart Energy Saving mode can reduce power consumption to around 80.5 W — a meaningful operational saving over months of continuous use.

Flexible Portrait and Landscape Orientation
The 50UL5Q-M supports both landscape and portrait mounting orientations, with onboard screen rotation and external input rotation managed through the webOS software — no external controller required. In addition, the display can be tilted ±15° on its mount (face up or face down), allowing it to be aimed at eye level whether installed overhead on a ceiling bracket or below a counter. This physical tilt is available on the 43", 50", 55" and 65" sizes and makes the display genuinely adaptable to architecturally challenging installations without additional tilt hardware.

Advanced Security with EKP and Common Criteria Certification
The 50UL5Q-M incorporates LG's Enhanced Kernel Protection (EKP) technology to guard against unauthorised access to the operating system and displayed content. This protection is independently validated by the ISO/IEC 15408 Common Criteria EAL2 certification — a meaningful credential for deployments in healthcare, finance, government or any environment where content confidentiality matters. The display also supports Pro:Idiom DRM, HDCP 2.2/1.4 and Cisco Certification, making it deployable in secure enterprise networks without additional middleware.

Failover for Uninterrupted Content Delivery
The built-in Fail Over feature automatically switches to a backup input source if the primary signal is lost — for example, falling back from a network stream to locally stored USB content. This means that a network outage or a disconnected source device does not result in a blank screen, which is critical in public-facing environments such as transport hubs, retail entrances or hospital waiting rooms where an empty display undermines professionalism. Combined with the No Signal Image feature and Booting Logo Image, the display always presents intentional content rather than a black screen or error state.

Remote Monitoring and Control via Control Manager
The 50UL5Q-M supports LG's web-based Control Manager, allowing operators to monitor display status, adjust settings and trigger actions from any mobile device or PC on the same network — or remotely over the internet. Status Mailing provides proactive email alerts if a fault condition is detected, reducing the need for on-site visits. For larger deployments, the optional LG ConnectedCare cloud service adds centralised fault diagnosis and remote-control services across entire fleets of displays. Wake on LAN and SNMP support complete the remote management toolkit, making the 50UL5Q-M straightforward to integrate into an IT-managed infrastructure.
