The Chief MCM1X2U is a ready-to-install stacking solution for ceiling-mounted dual-display digital signage. Designed for AV integrators working on retail, hospitality, corporate, and public-space projects, this kit bundles two Fusion medium flat-panel ceiling mounts with a 121,9 cm pre-drilled pin-connection column — everything needed to hang two medium-sized screens vertically from a single ceiling point. Compatible with the industry-standard 1.5" NPT ceiling infrastructure as well as Chief's own CPA pin-connection system, it slots into existing infrastructure or new builds equally well. Both mounts support portrait and landscape orientation, offer -20° to +5° tilt and ±3° roll adjustment, and accept displays up to 45,4 kg each, making it a versatile base for permanent, high-traffic installations.

Bundled Kit: Everything to Stack Two Displays

The MCM1X2U ships as a complete, ready-to-mount solution: two Fusion MCM1U medium ceiling mounts plus a 121,9 cm pre-drilled CPA pin-connection column. For the integrator this eliminates the compatibility guesswork of sourcing individual components — every piece is matched and factory-tested together. On-site, this means a faster, more predictable installation with no last-minute hardware sourcing. The pre-drilled column has holes every 2,54 cm along its entire length, so drop height can be set quickly without custom drilling on the job.

Dual-Platform Ceiling Compatibility

The kit works with both traditional 1.5" NPT threaded pipe infrastructure and Chief's CPA pin-connection ceiling plate system. This dual compatibility matters in retrofit projects where existing ceilings may already have NPT drops, as well as in new builds where the CPA system is specified for its faster connect-disconnect service access. For longer drops — common in high-bay retail or atrium spaces — the CPA264 (NPT) or CPA263 (pin-connection) extension column can be ordered separately, keeping the same mount hardware for any ceiling height. This flexibility protects the installer's investment: one mount family covers a very wide range of site conditions.

Portrait and Landscape — Both Supported

Each MCM1U mount in the kit supports both landscape and portrait screen orientation, with VESA compatibility from 200×100 mm up to 460×400 mm. In practice this means the same hardware can handle a standard widescreen menu board today and be re-oriented for a narrow portrait content loop tomorrow — without replacing the mount. For digital signage projects where content strategy evolves after handover, this orientation flexibility significantly reduces the cost of future changes. Screen size range spans approximately 81 to 127 cm (32 to 50 inches) diagonally, covering most medium commercial-grade flat-panel displays.

Centris Fingertip Tilt and Fine-Tune Adjustments

Chief's Centris fingertip tilt technology allows the viewing angle of each display to be set with minimal force across a -20° to +5° range, while ±3° of roll corrects for any minor ceiling imperfections or off-plumb column situations. The tilt mechanism features continuous adjustment with four set locking points, which makes aligning two stacked screens to the same angle a repeatable, guess-free process — crucial when both displays must appear visually matched to passing viewers. This level of on-site fine-tuning reduces post-installation callback visits caused by misaligned screens.

Tool-Free Screen Engagement with Optional Security

Screens connect to the mount heads without tools, using Chief's simple on-off mechanism that makes initial hang and any future service or screen swap significantly faster. Optional padlock security can be added to prevent unauthorised removal — relevant in semi-public environments such as hotel lobbies, airport concourses, or retail showrooms where the screens are within reach of the public. The combination of quick attachment for the integrator and lockable security for the end user makes the MCM1X2U a practical choice for installations that need to balance ease of service with physical security.
