Tool-Free Height Adjustment in the Field
The CMS0203W uses Chief's notched column design, which lets an installer set the exact drop height anywhere between 60,9 and 91,4 cm by simply sliding the inner tube to the desired notch and locking it with the set screw — no pipe cutters, no disassembly, no revisit needed. In a typical commercial install, ceiling heights vary room to room and often differ from the specification drawings. Being able to dial in the final height after the projector or display is already connected saves significant time on-site and eliminates the need to stock multiple fixed-length pipes for a single project.
Universal 1.5" NPT Compatibility
Both ends of the column are machined with standard 1.5" NPT (National Pipe Thread) threads, which is the dominant thread standard across Chief's projector mount ecosystem and a widely adopted AV industry standard. This means the CMS0203W threads directly into any Chief ceiling plate, spider mount, or projector mount with NPT fittings — and equally into third-party accessories that use the same standard. The column is hollow with a dedicated cable routing port at one end, allowing signal and power cables to pass through the interior of the column rather than running externally along the pole.
