The Chief CMS009W is a 22.9 cm fixed extension column designed for ceiling-mounted projectors and flat-panel displays. Part of Chief's Speed-Connect system, it lowers a display or projector to the ideal height from the ceiling while keeping cabling concealed. Built from aluminium for a strong yet lightweight construction, it threads onto any standard 1.5" NPT ceiling plate or compatible accessory. Ideal for education, corporate and house-of-worship AV installations where a fixed, predictable drop length is required and a clean finished result is a priority.
Precise Fixed Drop Length
The CMS009W provides a fixed 22.9 cm drop — no adjustment, no drift over time. For installations where the correct hang height is known in advance (a typical corporate boardroom or classroom ceiling, for example), a fixed column is the most reliable long-term solution: once the projection or display height is set during commissioning, it stays exactly where it was placed. There is nothing to loosen, slip or accidentally knock out of position, which reduces post-installation support calls and keeps the display at the engineer-specified height throughout the product's lifetime.
Flow-Through Cable Management
Cables run inside the column and exit through a dedicated port, so power and signal cables are fully hidden between the ceiling plate and the projector or display mount. This matters in any environment where a clean overhead installation is expected — classrooms, meeting rooms and houses of worship in particular — because exposed cables above head height attract attention and are frequently cited in end-user complaints. The integrated route also protects cables from accidental damage and makes it easier to comply with cable-management requirements in structured cabling projects.

With a rated load capacity of 227 kg, the CMS009W far exceeds the weight of virtually any ceiling-mounted projector or display currently on the market. Universal 1.5" NPT Compatibility
Both ends of the column carry a 1.5" NPT thread, the de facto standard for ceiling-mount hardware across the AV industry. This makes the CMS009W compatible with the full Chief ceiling plate range as well as third-party NPT accessories, giving installers flexibility to mix and match components from existing inventory. It also allows the column to be stacked with other NPT extension columns when a longer drop is needed, without requiring proprietary adapters.
