Outdoor 5.25" surface mount speaker, black

Origin Acoustics OS50B

The Origin Acoustics OS50B is a compact, high-performance outdoor surface mount speaker designed for residential and light-commercial installations in patios, gardens, pool areas, and covered outdoor entertainment zones. Part of Origin Acoustics' Outdoor Collection, the OS50B pairs a 5.25-inch IMPP woofer with a 1-inch aluminum tweeter in a weather-sealed enclosure rated IPX66 — meaning it handles both high-pressure water jets and complete dust ingress protection. A fully adjustable C-bracket allows both horizontal and vertical aiming, so the sound can always be directed toward the listening area regardless of mounting position. Sold as a pair in black finish, the OS50B ships with all mounting hardware and includes a 2-pin Phoenix connector for a clean, tool-free wiring connection.

IPX66 All-Weather Protection

IPX66 All-Weather Protection

The OS50B carries an IPX66 certification under IEC 60529, which means the enclosure is both fully dust-tight (IP6x) and protected against powerful water jets from any direction (IPx6). This is a step above the more common IPX4 or IPX5 ratings often seen on budget outdoor speakers. In practice it means the speaker can be installed in exposed locations — directly above a pool deck, under an eave that channels rainwater, or in a coastal garden exposed to salt spray and high-humidity air — without risk of water ingress degrading the drivers or internal components over time. For installers, this eliminates call-backs caused by moisture failures and extends the real-world service life of the installation significantly.

Full Pan-and-Tilt Aim Adjustment

Full Pan-and-Tilt Aim Adjustment

The included C-bracket system allows both horizontal rotation and vertical angle adjustment after the speaker is mounted on the wall. Vertical tilt is set where the C-bracket connects to the wall plate, horizontal aim is dialled in at the speaker-to-C-bracket joint, and both positions are locked down with Torx security screws. This is particularly valuable when the ideal cable exit point and the ideal listening direction are not aligned — a common reality in garden and patio installs — because the installer can run cable to the most convenient wall location and then aim the speaker independently. The result is accurate sound steering toward seating areas, fire pits, or outdoor dining tables without compromising cable routing.

IPX66 rated. Aims anywhere. Sounds great outdoors.

Front-Access 2-Pin Phoenix Connector

Front-Access 2-Pin Phoenix Connector

Speaker wiring terminates at a 2-pin Phoenix (euroblock) connector accessible through a covered port on the front baffle, rather than at the rear of the cabinet. Wire is routed from the wall plate through the enclosure body and out through this front opening, then stripped, twisted and clamped into the Phoenix block with a small flathead screwdriver — no soldering, no push-pins that can work loose. The access door closes over the terminal after connection, keeping moisture out. This approach is particularly useful when the bracket is already wall-mounted in a tight or elevated location: the installer does not need to remove the speaker from the bracket to make or re-check the wiring connection.

High-Excursion IMPP Woofer for Clean Bass Outdoors

High-Excursion IMPP Woofer for Clean Bass Outdoors

The 5.25-inch woofer uses an Injection Molded Polypropylene (IMPP) cone, a material chosen for its combination of stiffness, low mass, and moisture resistance. In an outdoor environment — where there is no room boundary reinforcement — a speaker has to work harder to produce low-frequency energy than the same unit would indoors. The IMPP cone's high-excursion capability means the OS50B can move the air volume needed to deliver audible, textured bass down to 84 Hz (±3 dB) even without wall or corner loading. The result is a speaker that sounds full and balanced in open spaces rather than thin and bright, which is one of the most common complaints about budget outdoor speaker designs.

5-Year Limited Warranty

5-Year Limited Warranty

Origin Acoustics backs the OS50B with a limited 5-year warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship for the original retail purchaser, provided the speaker was purchased through an authorized dealer. Defective units are repaired or replaced at Origin Acoustics' discretion; if the exact model is discontinued it will be replaced with a current equivalent of equal or greater value. For system integrators and custom installers, a 5-year warranty on an outdoor speaker is a meaningful differentiator — it signals confidence in the product's weathering capability and reduces the risk of post-installation liability on projects where replacing speakers at height or in hard-to-access locations would otherwise be a costly service call.
