5.25" outdoor surface mount speaker, white

Origin Acoustics OS50W

The Origin Acoustics OS50W is a compact 2-way outdoor surface mount loudspeaker engineered for residential and light commercial installations where weather resistance and audio quality must go hand in hand. Featuring a 5.25" IMPP woofer paired with a 1" aluminum tweeter, it delivers crisp, detailed sound across a wide 100° horizontal by 50° vertical coverage angle — making it well suited for patios, pool areas, covered outdoor terraces, and commercial hospitality zones. The adjustable C-bracket system allows both vertical and horizontal aim to be fine-tuned after mounting, ensuring sound is always directed precisely at the listening area. Available in white, the OS50W ships as a pair and is backed by a limited 5-year warranty.

IPX66 All-Weather Durability

IPX66 All-Weather Durability

The OS50W carries an IPX66 rating per IEC 60529, meaning the enclosure is certified to withstand both powerful water jets and complete dust ingress — the dual-6 rating is significantly more demanding than the more common IPX4 splash-only standard. For outdoor installs in exposed locations — pool surrounds, covered terraces, commercial restaurant patios, or coastal properties — this means the speaker can be mounted without a protective canopy and remain fully operational through heavy rain, hosing down, and seasonal temperature swings. End users get consistent audio performance year-round without worrying about weather events shortening the speaker's service life.

Precise Aim with the C-Bracket System

Precise Aim with the C-Bracket System

The OS50W uses a two-axis C-bracket mounting system that allows the installer to independently adjust both the vertical angle and the horizontal rotation of the speaker after it is fixed to the wall or pole. Vertical angle is set by selecting the correct adjustment holes on the bracket before securing; horizontal aim is dialled in by rotating the speaker body inside the C-bracket's screw-cap ends. This matters particularly in asymmetric spaces — a patio corner where listeners are off to one side, a bar terrace where coverage must wrap around seating — because it removes the guesswork of getting the orientation right before committing to a fixed mount. The result for the end user is better on-axis sound at the listening position, without requiring a reinstall.

True aim. All weather. Zero compromise on sound.

Wide 100° x 50° Dispersion Pattern

Wide 100° x 50° Dispersion Pattern

With a nominal coverage angle of 100° horizontal by 50° vertical, the OS50W is engineered to fill a broad outdoor area from a single speaker position without the hot-spot effect that narrower designs can produce. This wide horizontal throw is especially useful in outdoor hospitality or residential settings where listeners move freely — around a pool deck, across a patio, along a garden path — and expect relatively even volume regardless of where they stand. It also reduces the number of speakers needed to achieve uniform coverage, which directly impacts installation cost and cable runs.

Tool-Friendly Phoenix Connector Wiring

Tool-Friendly Phoenix Connector Wiring

Speaker connections on the OS50W are made via a 2-pin Phoenix (euro-block) connector accessed through a dedicated access door on the front baffle. The wire is fed from the back of the enclosure through the bracket and out through the front panel opening, keeping runs tidy and protected. The screw-clamp Phoenix connector requires only a small flat-head screwdriver to terminate — no soldering, no crimp tools. An access door covers the terminal once wired. For installers handling multiple speakers on a single run or retrofitting into existing bracket holes, this speeds up termination considerably and removes the risk of intermittent connections from loose push-in terminals.
