Chief PG3A — Extra-large lockable projector security cage
The Chief PG3A is an extra-large projector security cage designed to protect ceiling-mounted projectors from theft and recreational damage in high-traffic, public environments such as schools, gymnasiums, houses of worship, and corporate spaces. It fully encloses the projector and its mount inside a heavy-gauge, lockable steel cage that fits onto pre-existing Chief RPA or RPM series projector mounts — without requiring any disturbance of the projector's existing alignment settings. The PG3A is the largest in Chief's PG security cage range and is aimed at integrators and AV resellers who need to safeguard high-value projectors in unsupervised or publicly accessible locations.

Non-Disruptive Retrofit Installation
The PG3A is engineered to slide onto existing Chief RPA or RPM series ceiling projector mounts without touching the projector's alignment — roll, pitch and yaw settings remain intact. In practice this means an integrator can add security to an already-commissioned installation in minutes, with no recalibration of the image needed afterwards. For end users in education or corporate environments who cannot afford projector downtime, this makes retrofitting the cage a straightforward maintenance task rather than a full reinstallation job.

Heavy-Gauge Steel Construction with Multi-Level Locking
The cage body is built from steel and secured with tamper-resistant security screws as standard, with provision for additional padlocks for environments that require higher deterrence. The All-Points Security approach means there are no exposed projector fasteners visible from outside the cage, removing the obvious removal points that opportunistic thieves look for. This is particularly important in school gymnasiums, houses of worship and public assembly spaces where the projector is mounted high but in direct view of the public.

Accommodates Very Large Projectors — RPA or RPM Compatible
With a maximum projector footprint of approximately 28,9 cm (H) × 63,5 cm (W) × 63,5 cm (D) when used with the RPA series mount (RPM reduces maximum height by approximately 2,5 cm), the PG3A covers the largest projectors commonly encountered in education and large-venue installs. Compatibility extends to standard 1.5" NPT pipe and RSM/RSA ceiling plate systems, giving integrators flexibility to use the cage within their existing Chief infrastructure without sourcing additional adapters.

Adjustable Lens Opening and Hinged Access Door
The front opening of the cage is adjustable to accommodate projectors with different lens positions and zoom configurations, avoiding the common problem of the cage obstructing the lens throw or requiring a fixed cutout that limits projector model compatibility. The hinged door allows authorised staff to access the projector quickly — for lamp replacement, filter cleaning or input switching — without removing the cage from the mount, which reduces service time significantly in environments where the projector is installed at height.
