The Chief CPAE300 is a 300 cm fixed-length extension column designed exclusively for the EMEA market (Europe, Middle East and Africa), intended for use with Chief pin-connection ceiling plates and projector mount systems. It is aimed at professional AV integrators who need a reliable, clean-looking drop for ceiling-mounted projectors in venues such as auditoriums, conference rooms, classrooms and houses of worship. Fast Pin-Connection Installation

The CPAE300 uses Chief's dedicated pin-connection system: thread-forming screws lock the column to compatible ceiling plates at each end via pre-drilled holes, without requiring nuts or additional hardware inside the tube. This means the column goes up quickly and, equally importantly, comes down cleanly for maintenance without disturbing the ceiling structure. For installations where projectors need periodic lamp changes or alignment adjustments, the time saved on each service visit is a tangible operational benefit — a column that took 20 minutes to install can be dropped and re-hung in a fraction of that time.

Serviceable External Cable Management

Rather than routing cables through the hollow core of the column — which requires threading cables before the column is raised — the CPAE300 uses an inlay-style external channel along the outer surface. Cables are clipped into grooves on the outside and can be added, removed or replaced at any time without taking the column down. This is particularly valuable in installations where signal paths change (e.g. switching from VGA to HDMI to HDBaseT over the years), or where cables are damaged and need replacement. The 300 cm length represents the maximum drop of this model, but the column can be cut shorter on site and re-drilled to suit the exact ceiling height of the installation. This means a single SKU can cover a wide range of room depths, reducing the number of different column lengths that need to be stocked. The outer surface features longitudinal grooves that serve a dual purpose: they give the column an aesthetic ribbed appearance and also act as built-in drill guides when re-drilling pin holes after cutting. This eliminates guesswork and helps ensure holes are perfectly aligned even when cut in the field.

The CPAE300 is rated to support up to 226,7 kg (500 lbs) in a ceiling suspension application and carries TÜV certification, an independent safety validation widely recognised across European markets.
