Expanded I/O enterprise digital signage player
XT1145
The XT1145 is BrightSign's Expanded I/O model in the XT5 Series 5 family, designed for enterprise digital signage and interactive kiosk installations that demand maximum connectivity and top-tier performance. It targets AV integrators, system designers, and corporate or retail end customers who need live video integration alongside powerful 8K content playback. The player's HDMI 2.0a input enables live TV, camera feeds, or broadcast content to be seamlessly blended into signage playlists, while its USB-A, USB-C, serial, and 12-pin GPIO ports open the door to interactive peripherals, touch screens, button pads, and custom sensor integrations — all in a slim 19 mm chassis powered optionally over PoE+.

HDMI 2.0a Input for Live Video
The XT1145 is the only model in the XT5 family's base tier to include an HDMI 2.0a input — a feature absent from the standard XT245. This input allows live TV channels, broadcast feeds, or camera streams to be pulled directly into signage playlists without any additional capture hardware. In practice this means a retailer can display live sports or breaking news on the same screen as scheduled promotional content, switching seamlessly between sources. Museum installations can integrate live camera feeds into interactive exhibits, and corporate lobbies can blend live event coverage with scheduled messaging — all managed from within BrightSignOS and the CMS of choice. HDCP support is being added in a future BrightSignOS update.

8K60p and Dual 4K60p Decoding
Powered by a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU), the XT1145 decodes a single 8K60p stream at 10-bit colour depth, or simultaneously handles dual 4K60p streams — a capability that was the preserve of full PC-based systems only a few years ago. HDR10, HLG, and Rec.2020/BT.2020 colour space are all supported, so content looks exactly as the designer intended on calibrated professional displays. Supported codecs span H.265/HEVC, H.264/AVC, AV1, VP9, MPEG-1/2/4, and MJPEG across a wide range of containers. This means existing content libraries rarely need re-encoding, and the player handles the most demanding future content without a hardware swap.

PoE+ Powers Player and Peripherals
The XT1145's Gigabit Ethernet port supports PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at), meaning a single network cable simultaneously delivers data and up to 30W of power to the player and connected USB peripherals. This eliminates the need to run a separate power circuit to the player — a meaningful installation saving in ceilings, display pockets, or wall-recessed enclosures where running AC is costly or disruptive. For deployments across many locations, it also lets facilities teams use standard PoE+ network switches already in place rather than adding additional power infrastructure.

Expanded IO for Interactive and Automated Installs
Beyond the standard GPIO that the XT245 offers, the XT1145 adds USB-A 2.0, USB-C (high-speed host mode, 5V/1A output), and a 3.5mm serial port. The 12-pin Phoenix-connector GPIO block provides 8 bi-directional lines for direct hardware triggers — motion sensors, door contacts, relay outputs, button pads, and similar. The USB-C port can simultaneously act as a host and power a connected peripheral (e.g. a touch controller or LED strip driver). Serial enables RS-232 control of displays, projectors, and AV equipment from within BrightSignOS scripting. Together these ports make the XT1145 the right choice wherever interactivity, environmental sensing, or hardware automation is part of the brief.

BrightSignOS: Purpose-Built for Signage Reliability
BrightSignOS is not a locked-down Android or a stripped Windows — it is an operating system written exclusively to run digital signage, with no background processes, update reboots, or attack surface beyond what signage requires. Automatic fault detection and self-healing protocols allow the player to recover from content or playback errors without manual intervention. The real-time clock has a 14-day supercapacitor backup, so scheduled content timing survives power outages. Storage is replaceable (MicroSD or optional 256 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD). With 200+ certified CMS partner integrations, the XT1145 slots into virtually any existing content management ecosystem without a rip-and-replace hardware cycle as software needs evolve.

5-Year Warranty and Free Remote Management
Every XT1145 purchased from BrightSign after January 1, 2025 and registered online is covered by a 5-year parts-and-labor warranty — significantly longer than the 1–2 year standard in the category. BrightSign Control, the company's free device management service, is included with every player and provides real-time health monitoring, remote diagnostics, and integration with partner CMS platforms. This reduces the need for costly on-site visits and gives end customers confidence that the installation will perform across its full expected lifespan without unplanned replacement costs.

Wi-Fi, M.2 Slots, and Built-In Wall Mounting
The XT1145 ships with dual external Wi-Fi antenna connectors and an internal M.2 E Key slot for a Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module, providing flexible wired or wireless network connectivity without external adapters. An M.2 PCIe slot accepts an optional 256 GB NVMe SSD for installations where a large local content library or resilient offline playback is needed. The chassis itself includes built-in wall-mount points, so no separate bracket is required for most installations — a small but real time-saver during fit-out. All of this fits in a 238.62 × 185.90 × 19.19 mm enclosure weighing just 0.68 kg.
