Commercial 5.25" in-ceiling speaker pair with tile bridge
Origin PRO PC50B-TB
The Origin PRO PC50B-TB is a pair of 5.25-inch 2-way black in-ceiling loudspeakers built specifically for commercial audio installations in restaurants, retail spaces, offices, hotels and other demanding environments. Designed with audiophile-grade sensibilities, the PC50 delivers clear, full-range sound through a 70V and 100V distributed audio infrastructure — making it equally at home in large multi-zone installs and boutique venue fitouts. The -TB variant ships with a tile bridge, enabling flush installation into drop-ceiling tile grids without additional hardware. All speakers in this collection are UL-listed and fire-rated for plenum air-handling spaces, simplifying code compliance on commercial projects.

Patented Multi-Motion Pivot Tweeter
The 3/4" silk DSPD (Dual Plane Stabilized Diaphragm) tweeter can pivot up to 30 degrees thanks to Origin PRO's patented Multi-Motion Pivot technology. In a standard in-ceiling installation the speaker rarely sits directly above the listening zone — off-axis or corner placements are the norm. Being able to physically aim the tweeter toward the seating area or key zone means the high-frequency content actually arrives at ear level rather than firing straight down into an empty floor. In a restaurant or retail environment this translates to more consistent voice intelligibility and musical presence across the room, without raising the overall volume level to compensate for a poorly aimed driver.

Transparent 70V-100V Multi-Tap Transformer
The PC50B includes a front-facing, premium multi-tap transformer supporting both 70V and 100V distributed audio systems with selectable power settings of 30W, 15W, 7.5W and 3.8W (70V) or 30W, 15W and 7.5W (100V). The transformer is described by Origin PRO as "nearly transparent" — meaning it adds minimal coloration to the signal, preserving the audiophile-grade character of the drivers. Front-mounted tap selection means an installer can change impedance settings after the speaker is already in the ceiling, without removing the unit. This front-access design significantly reduces labour time and the risk of ceiling damage during adjustments on large multi-zone installs.
Audiophile-grade sound. Commercial-grade build. Zero compromise.

Widest Dispersion in the PC Line: 120° Coverage
With a 120-degree conical coverage pattern, the PC50 delivers the broadest horizontal dispersion of all Origin PRO in-ceiling models. This makes it the most forgiving model in terms of speaker spacing — installers can cover a given floor area with fewer units compared to the PC60 (115°) or PC80 (100°), directly affecting both material cost and installation time. For end users, this translates to a more even sound field across the room, with fewer hot-spots and drop-out zones. It is particularly well suited to lower ceiling heights (2.5–3.5 m) where a wider pattern is needed to cover the listening area without excessive speaker density.

Tile Bridge for Drop-Ceiling Grid Installs
The -TB suffix denotes that this bundle includes a tile bridge — a mounting accessory that spans across a standard 600 x 600 mm or 600 x 1200 mm ceiling tile grid, supporting the speaker's metal can without requiring a separate backcan or cutout in solid drywall. This is critical for commercial projects where the majority of the building has a suspended T-bar ceiling: the installer can simply place the tile bridge across the grid rails, drop the speaker through the cutout in the tile, and secure it — no separate accessories to order, no extra site visits. Packaging the tile bridge in the box eliminates a common quoting error and reduces the chance of a stalled install caused by missing accessories.

Commercial-Grade Construction & Safety Certifications
The PC50B is housed in a zinc-plated metal can — a meaningful distinction from the plastic enclosures common in residential in-ceiling speakers. The enclosure is backed by UL 1480A certification (speakers for commercial and professional use) and UL 2043 (fire test for heat and smoke release in air-handling spaces), as well as NFPA 70 and NFPA 90A compliance. For a commercial integrator, these certifications are often a contractual and building-code requirement — particularly in plenum ceiling installations across North America. Having a pre-certified product removes the need for post-installation fire-rating submissions and reduces liability exposure on commercial projects.

Integrator-Friendly Installation Hardware
Beyond the tile bridge, the PC50B includes an integrated conduit lock, heavy-duty spring-loaded dog-ears for drywall and plaster ceilings, Euro-block (phoenix connector) wiring terminations, and a safety strap connection point for seismic compliance. Euro-block connectors allow speaker wire to be terminated on the bench before going up the ladder, and the tool-free dog-ear mechanism clamps securely inside the ceiling without requiring access above the tile. Together, these features meaningfully reduce installation time per unit — a significant operational advantage on large fitouts where the PC50B will be installed in volume.
