Ceiling-mounted 2×1 digital signage menu board system
Chief LCM2X1U
The Chief Fusion LCM2X1U is a ceiling-mounted menu board solution designed for digital signage installations where wall mounting is not an option. Engineered for commercial environments such as restaurants, retail spaces and airports, it holds two displays in a 2-wide by 1-high landscape arrangement, creating a seamless double-screen menu board suspended from the ceiling. The universal VESA interface accommodates a wide range of screen sizes, and units can be combined side by side to build even longer display arrays. A ceiling plate and extension column are required accessories and must be ordered separately. The result is a professional, clean AV installation with full post-install adjustability and robust structural integrity.

Wall-Free Menu Board Placement
The LCM2X1U suspends two displays directly from the ceiling, making it possible to position a dual-screen menu board in the middle of an open floor plan, above a counter island, or directly over a service queue — anywhere a structural wall is absent. This opens up installations in food halls, open-plan restaurants, airport concourses and large retail spaces that would otherwise be impossible to serve with conventional wall mounts. For the end user, it means the signage can be placed exactly where customer attention is highest, rather than pushed to a peripheral wall where it competes with other visual distractions.

Modular Array Expansion
Multiple LCM2X1U units can be combined horizontally to build longer continuous menu board rows — three, four or more screens wide — all fed from the same ceiling drop infrastructure. Each unit handles a 2×1 screen pair, and the single horizontal extrusion keeps all screens precisely co-planar regardless of how many units are linked. This modularity means an operator can start with a two-screen installation and expand without replacing the mount hardware, protecting the initial investment. For an integrator, it also simplifies quoting: additional screen pairs simply add another LCM2X1U and compatible column.
Two screens. One drop. No wall required.

Centris Tilt Technology for Post-Install Adjustment
The tilting interface uses Chief's Centris technology, which allows the display angle to be set anywhere from +5° (upward tilt) to -20° (downward tilt) after installation without tools. Combined with micro-adjustable roll correction of ±3° and a full 360° swivel, virtually every viewing geometry can be dialled in once the mount is in place. In practice this means an installer can hang the mount, connect the displays, and then fine-tune tilt and rotation precisely to the viewing zone — eliminating the compromise of a fixed-angle mount and reducing the risk of glare from skylights or overhead lighting.

Tool-Free Screen Engagement with Optional Security
Displays engage with the mount interface without tools, which significantly speeds up initial installation and future screen swaps or upgrades. Once engaged, an optional pad-lock accessory can be fitted to physically secure each display to the mount — an important consideration for public-facing environments such as restaurants and transit hubs where vandalism or opportunistic removal is a risk. This combination of fast engagement and lockable security means screens can be installed quickly during a venue fit-out and then locked down for the operational period.

Broad Screen Compatibility with FCAX Expansion
The LCM2X1U natively supports displays from 101,6 cm (40") to 139,7 cm (55") diagonal with a universal VESA interface accepting any width mounting pattern combined with a height range of 10–40 cm (100–400 mm). When larger screens up to 165,1 cm (65") are required, Chief's FCAX extension brackets extend compatibility without replacing the core mount. The 56,7 kg weight capacity per display covers the vast majority of commercial-grade panels in this size range. This breadth of compatibility means the mount is not locked to a single display brand or generation, which protects the installation against future display refresh cycles.

UL Listed — Certified for Commercial Overhead Use
The LCM2X1U carries UL Listing, the North American safety certification that confirms the mount has been independently tested to meet structural and electrical safety standards for overhead installation. For an AV integrator, UL Listing is typically a baseline requirement on commercial contracts, particularly in food-service and public assembly venues where building inspectors and insurance underwriters scrutinise overhead suspended loads. It also supports TAA compliance, making the product eligible for government and federally funded projects.
