Centris Fingertip Tilt for Post-Install Tweaks
The MCM1U uses Chief's Centris tilt mechanism, which balances the display's weight so that even heavy screens can be tilted with one finger after installation is complete. This matters in practice because final screen angle is rarely perfect on the first mount — installers regularly need to compensate for ceiling slopes, uneven column lengths, or a client's last-minute viewing-angle preference. With four set locking points across a -20° to +5° continuous tilt range, the mount lets you dial in the exact angle and lock it reliably, making it especially valuable when deploying multiple identical screens in a row: set one, lock it, replicate the same locking position on the rest, and you're done without guesswork.
Landscape and Portrait in One SKU
The MCM1U supports both landscape and portrait display orientation without requiring a different mount or additional adapter. For digital signage integrators this is a genuine operational advantage: a single part number covers menu boards (landscape) and wayfinding or retail displays (portrait) within the same project. The MCM1U is a mount head within Chief's Fusion modular ceiling system. A compatible ceiling plate (traditional 1.5" NPT or CPA pinned) and an extension column must be ordered separately. This is an important specification for quoting: the MCM1U alone is not a complete installation. The modular architecture is also the system's core strength — integrators can select column length to match the exact ceiling height, swap components if site conditions change, and combine the head with Fusion accessories such as back covers and storage boxes, all without replacing the mount head. For installations across a multi-site rollout, this flexibility reduces waste and keeps the project adaptable.
