The Chief CMA365 Truss Ceiling Adapter is designed for installers who need to suspend projectors or other AV equipment from structural truss systems rather than a solid ceiling. It bridges the gap between a standard 1.5" NPT-threaded extension column and virtually any truss profile — square, round, rectangular, or I-beam — up to 7,6 cm in diameter. Universal Truss Compatibility

The CMA365 clamps onto square, round, rectangular, and I-beam truss profiles with an OD of 1,9–7,6 cm, covering the overwhelming majority of truss systems found in events, houses of worship, auditoriums, and trade-show venues. This single adapter eliminates the need to source profile-specific hardware, which simplifies procurement and means an integrator can keep one SKU in stock to handle multiple job types. On site, equipment can be positioned precisely along the truss run before the clamp is tightened — a practical advantage when exact drop-point coordinates are only determined during rigging.

Standard 1.5" NPT Thread — Accepts Any Column Length

The adapter's 1.5" NPT female thread accepts any length of standard NPT pipe threaded on both ends, so the drop distance is not fixed at purchase time. Installers can cut a pipe to the exact length needed on site, or choose from Chief's own CMS-series extension columns for a fully integrated system. This flexibility avoids the cost of stocking multiple fixed-length drop tubes and prevents the common problem of a pre-ordered column arriving slightly too long or too short for the actual ceiling-to-screen distance measured on the day.

The CMA365 carries UL Listing and TV Certification, satisfying the safety compliance requirements that many venues, insurers, and AHJs (authorities having jurisdiction) mandate before overhead equipment may be installed above an audience or occupied space.
