Chief VCMU — Heavy-duty universal projector ceiling mount
The Chief VCMU is a heavy-duty universal projector ceiling mount designed for professional AV installations where precise alignment and long-term stability are critical. Built from steel and engineered to support large, heavy LCD and CRT projectors, it is well-suited for auditoriums, lecture halls, boardrooms, and house of worship installations. The mount ships with Chief's universal HBU interface bracket, which is compatible with a wide range of projector models, reducing the need for custom adapters. Three independent micro-adjustment axes — roll, pitch, and yaw — allow installers to fine-tune projection alignment quickly and accurately after the projector is in place, minimising callbacks and on-site time.

Three-Axis Micro-Adjustment System
The VCMU provides independent roll, pitch, and yaw adjustment, all accessible after the projector is fully mounted. In practice, this means an installer can hang the mount, attach the projector, and then dial in the precise throw angle without repositioning the ceiling attachment point. For large venues where the projector may be 8–15 metres from the screen, even a small angular error produces a visibly misaligned image — the three-axis system eliminates this by allowing small, repeatable corrections at each axis independently. This directly reduces installation time and all but eliminates return visits for image alignment issues.

Universal HBU Interface Bracket Included
The mount ships with Chief's Heavy-Duty Universal (HBU) interface bracket, which is designed to fit the mounting hole patterns of a wide range of large-format projectors without requiring a model-specific adapter plate. For integrators working across multiple projector brands and generations, this significantly simplifies inventory management — one mount SKU covers a broad compatibility matrix. It also means the mount can be reused if a customer upgrades to a different projector model, reducing total cost of ownership over the installation lifetime.
