Heavy-duty universal ceiling projector mount
Chief VCMUW
The Chief VCMUW is a heavy-duty universal ceiling projector mount engineered for large-venue installations where both structural reliability and precise image alignment are non-negotiable. With a 113,4 kg load capacity and all-steel construction, it is built for demanding environments such as auditoriums, houses of worship, lecture halls, and commercial meeting spaces running high-output projection. The mount ships complete with the universal HBUW bracket, making it compatible with most heavy-duty projectors out of the box. Three independent micro-adjustment axes — roll, pitch, and yaw — enable fast and repeatable image registration, while integrated cable management and a quick connect/disconnect mechanism reduce installation time and simplify ongoing maintenance. UL Listed for safety and backed by a 10-year warranty.

113,4 kg Rated Heavy-Duty Construction
The VCMUW is built from heavy-duty steel and rated for projector systems weighing up to 113,4 kg — significantly beyond the capacity of standard projector mounts. In practice, this covers virtually all current high-output laser and lamp-based large-venue projectors, including stacked or tandem systems used in theatrical and simulation environments. For venues that need to hang a projector once and trust it for years, the structural confidence this rating provides is the core reason to specify the VCMUW over lighter-duty alternatives. The mount is UL Listed, giving end-users and facilities managers documented third-party verification of the safety rating.

Independent Roll, Pitch and Yaw Micro-Adjustments
Three fully independent adjustment axes — roll (±5°), pitch (±20°), and yaw (360°) — allow installers to dial in precise image registration without disturbing the other axes. This decoupled adjustment system is what separates professional mounts from commodity hardware: when you correct roll, pitch stays put, meaning alignment is faster and less frustrating, especially at height on a scissor lift. For the end user, the result is a consistently square, correctly aligned image that stays locked in. The 360° yaw range also means the projector can be rotated to any orientation relative to the screen during installation, accommodating virtually any ceiling geometry.

Three Flexible Ceiling Installation Options
The VCMUW supports three distinct ceiling attachment methods: flush mount directly to a structural ceiling, suspension on 1,27 cm (0.5-inch) threaded rods for drop ceilings or raised structures, or connection to a 3,81 cm NPT (1.5-inch) extension column for greater drop distance. This flexibility means a single SKU covers the majority of real-world ceiling conditions an integrator encounters — from flat concrete soffits to T-bar grid ceilings — without ordering additional adapter hardware in most cases. Specifiers can commit to the VCMUW before the ceiling construction details are fully confirmed, knowing at least one of the three methods will fit.

Quick Connect/Disconnect for Easy Lamp and Filter Access
The mount's quick connect/disconnect system lets the projector body be detached and reattached without losing the preset roll, pitch, and yaw alignment. On most projectors, this makes lamp and filter replacements a one-person job that can be completed without tools or re-alignment after remounting. In high-use venues such as cinemas, lecture theatres, or houses of worship where projector maintenance intervals are measured in months rather than years, this feature meaningfully reduces the labour cost of routine servicing and minimises downtime. The adjustment settings are preserved even when the projector is removed from the mount.

Integrated Cable Management — No Extra Accessories
Cables route through the top of the mount without any additional cable management accessories, keeping the installation visually clean from the moment the projector is hung. In venues where the mount is visible to the audience — auditoriums, conference rooms, worship spaces — a tidy cable run from ceiling to projector matters both aesthetically and practically: it reduces snagging risk during maintenance and keeps the installation looking professional over the life of the equipment. No extra cost or planning is needed for cable tidying on the standard install.

Universal HBUW Bracket Included — Wide Projector Compatibility
The VCMUW ships with the universal HBUW interface bracket, which is designed to fit the mounting hole patterns of most heavy-duty LCD and CRT projectors. Rather than requiring a projector-specific custom interface bracket as an additional purchase, the included universal bracket covers the large majority of models encountered in practice. This simplifies the ordering process and eliminates a common source of installation delays where a custom bracket is backordered. For edge cases where the universal bracket does not fit, custom HB interface brackets are available separately from Chief.

10-Year Warranty and UL Listing
Chief backs the VCMUW with a 10-year limited warranty — well above the 2–3 year terms typical of most AV mounting hardware. Combined with UL certification, this provides both the integrator and the end customer with documented quality assurance and long-term protection. For public venues or corporate facilities with procurement policies that require safety certification, the UL listing satisfies that requirement without additional paperwork. The warranty also provides a strong post-sale support argument in competitive bids where two mounts with similar specs are compared on total cost of ownership.
