Chief RPAUW — Universal ceiling projector mount, 2nd generation
The Chief RPAUW is a 2nd Generation universal ceiling projector mount designed for professional AV installations in offices, classrooms and houses of worship. It ships complete with the SLBU Universal Interface Bracket, making it compatible with approximately 95% of inverted projectors on the market — ideal for installers who cannot confirm the projector model in advance. The mount offers multiple installation methods, a low-profile appearance and a robust steel construction finished in white. Its combination of security, fast installation and broad projector compatibility makes it one of the most widely specified ceiling projector mounts in the professional AV industry.

95% Universal Projector Compatibility
The RPAUW ships with Chief's 2nd Generation SLBU Universal Interface Bracket, which is engineered to fit approximately 95% of inverted projectors available on the market. In practice this means an installer or dealer can order and pre-stage the mount before even confirming the exact projector model — a significant advantage on jobs where the end-customer's projector choice is still in flux or may change. The bracket's enhanced second-generation design also provides improved projector access compared to the original RPA series, so lamp replacements and filter cleaning can be carried out quickly without tools and without disturbing the mount's alignment. This wide compatibility removes the need to stock multiple model-specific interface plates.

All-Points Theft-Deterrent Security
Chief's patented All-Points Security System places steel-into-steel locking hardware at every key connection point on the mount. Unlike plastic-insert or cable-loop security approaches, the all-steel construction makes it significantly harder to defeat — projectors cannot be removed without the correct security fasteners. This is especially relevant in high-traffic or semi-public environments such as classrooms, lecture halls and hotel meeting rooms where projector theft is a real risk. For an end-user managing a large estate of projection rooms, this integrated security feature removes the need for after-market security cages or additional locking accessories.

Three Flexible Installation Methods
The RPAUW supports flush mounting directly to a ceiling, mounting via a 0.25" threaded rod, or mounting via a standard 1.5" NPT threaded extension column. This flexibility means the same mount head can be used across very different ceiling constructions — flat concrete ceilings, suspended tile ceilings (with an appropriate above-tile kit), or vaulted surfaces using a drop column of the required length. Yaw adjustment spans a full 360° on a threaded column, or 12° of slot-based yaw when flush mounted, covering most image-centering scenarios without requiring the projector to be repositioned. The mount adds approximately 6.4 cm (64 mm) to the overall installation depth.

Registration-Preserving Quick Release
Once the RPAUW is aligned and locked, the projector can be removed and reconnected without losing the set roll, pitch or yaw position. This is particularly valuable in environments where projectors need periodic servicing — lamp changes, lens cleaning or filter replacement — because the technician can unclip the projector, carry out the maintenance, and re-dock it confident that the image will return to its calibrated position. In multi-room estates managed by a single AV team, this reduces re-alignment time after each service visit to near zero.
