USB 3.2 Gen 1 data extender kit, up to 100 m
Atlona AT-USB-EX350-KIT
The Atlona AT-USB-EX350-KIT is a data-only USB 3.2 Gen 1 extender kit designed for conference rooms, huddle spaces, and education environments where high-speed USB peripherals — 4K cameras, conferencing bars, microphones, and speakers — need to be placed at distance from the host computer. The kit comprises two compact endpoints: a host unit with a locking USB-C port that connects to laptops, PCs, or Omega-series AV equipment, and a device unit with three USB-A and one locking USB-C port for up to four peripherals simultaneously. Extension runs up to 330 feet (100 m) over a single Cat 6A U/FTP cable, with no signal quality compromise. An onboard LAN port adds enterprise-grade integration: VBUS control per port, power and connection monitoring, firmware updates, and IP-to-RS-232 translation — all accessible via a built-in web server or API.

True USB 3.2 Gen 1 Extension at 5 Gbps
The AT-USB-EX350-KIT transmits USB 3.2 Gen 1 data at the full 5 Gbps line rate — not a resampled or compressed approximation — over a single Cat 6A U/FTP cable up to 330 feet (100 m). Unlike older USB extenders based on USB 2.0 or HDBaseT-USB implementations that throttle bandwidth to 480 Mbps, this kit allows 4K UVC cameras, NVMe enclosures, and other high-throughput peripherals to operate at their rated speed from across a large room or between floors. Practical payload throughput is approximately 3.8 Gbps for USB 3.0 devices after protocol overhead — still more than enough for 4K30 camera streams and simultaneous audio. For installations where USB 2.0 extenders have caused dropped frames, stuttering video, or refused device enumeration, this kit resolves those issues at the root.

Four-Port Device Hub with High Per-Port Power
The device endpoint functions as a four-port USB hub — three USB-A and one locking USB-C — each delivering up to 1.5 A of VBUS power (3.2 A total across all ports). This is substantially more than the 0.9 A typical of a standard USB 3.0 port, meaning energy-hungry peripherals like active PTZ cameras, powered USB microphone arrays, and conferencing bars can all be driven directly from the device endpoint without needing local power bricks. The locking USB-C connector on the device endpoint prevents accidental disconnection of a single high-value peripheral — a practical detail in permanent installations. Bidirectional remote power means the entire system can be powered from whichever end of the cable is easiest to reach a mains outlet.

Ethernet Management, VBUS Control, and RS-232
A 10/100 Ethernet port on the host endpoint exposes a built-in web server and a documented JSON-over-WebSockets API, supporting HTTP, HTTPS, Telnet, SSH, and NTP. This enables integrators to configure VBUS modes per port (Follow Host, Always High, Always Low), monitor live USB connection status and power consumption for each port, push firmware updates remotely, and translate IP commands to RS-232 for controlling a third-party device connected to the device endpoint's 3-pin captive screw serial port. 802.1x authentication (PEAP-MSCHAPv2 and EAP-TLS) means the unit can join enterprise networks with strict port-based access control. DHCP or static IP addressing is selectable. This level of integration is uncommon in USB extenders and makes the kit suitable for managed AV rooms where remote diagnostics and control scripting are expected.

Flexible Cable Distance Depending on Infrastructure
The kit is not locked to a single cable grade. Maximum reach of 330 feet (100 m) requires Cat 6A U/FTP in a straight run. Through a patch panel or coupler, the same cable type supports 295 feet (90 m). Installers working with existing Cat 6A UTP infrastructure can still reach 230 feet (70 m), and legacy Cat 5e UTP installations are supported up to 164 feet (50 m). This means the kit can often be deployed without a full cable re-pull, lowering installation cost. Each endpoint is physically identical in form factor — 23 × 135 × 100 mm, under 0.32 kg — and includes mounting brackets for furniture, behind-display, or above-projector placement.

NDAA-889 Compliant for Government and Education
The AT-USB-EX350-KIT carries NDAA Section 889 compliance, meaning it contains no prohibited telecommunications equipment or services from entities listed in the statute. This is a hard requirement for US federal government projects, many state-level contracts, and an increasing number of K-12 and higher-education procurement frameworks. CE, FCC, UKCA, and RCM certifications cover commercial deployments across North America, Europe, the UK, and Australia. The product ships with a 10-year limited manufacturer warranty, reducing total cost of ownership for installations where long asset lifecycles are planned.
