Velocity AV control gateway for 20+ rooms
Atlona AT-VGW-HW-T2
The Atlona AT-VGW-HW-T2 is a dedicated hardware appliance that serves as the central communications hub for the Atlona Velocity AV control platform in larger deployments. Designed for enterprise, education, government, and corporate environments, it supports up to 20 rooms of AV control and 40 rooms of room scheduling from a single on-premises server. The gateway hosts all Velocity services locally, eliminating cloud dependency and keeping sensitive AV and scheduling data within the facility network. Integrators and IT managers configure and manage the entire system through a standard web browser — no programming required — making it equally accessible to seasoned AV engineers and facility IT staff.

Scalable Multi-Room AV Control
The AT-VGW-HW-T2 supports up to 20 rooms of AV system control and 40 rooms of scheduling out of the box, with up to 1,000 IP devices manageable from a single interface. If a deployment grows beyond the base room count, up to 10 additional rooms can be unlocked by purchasing optional AT-VRL-SW software licenses — provided headroom remains available. This tiered capacity model means organizations can start with what they need today and expand without replacing hardware, making it a future-proof investment for campuses and facilities that are still scaling their AV footprint.

On-Premises Hosting — No Cloud Dependency
All Velocity services run locally on the gateway's own hardware, meaning the AV control and scheduling system operates independently of internet connectivity or third-party cloud infrastructure. For organizations in sectors such as government, finance, or healthcare where data sovereignty and network segmentation are non-negotiable, this is a decisive advantage. It also means the system remains fully operational during internet outages — a critical reliability factor for mission-critical conference rooms and lecture theatres that can't afford unplanned downtime.

Dual Gigabit Ethernet for Network Segmentation
Two independent Gigabit Ethernet ports allow the AV device LAN to be physically separated from the facility's corporate or guest network. This is a meaningful architectural benefit: AV equipment — which often runs legacy firmware and may not meet enterprise IT security standards — can be isolated so that it cannot directly reach or be reached from the corporate network. The result is a cleaner security posture that satisfies most IT department requirements while still enabling centralized management of all AV devices from a single gateway.

Active-Passive Failover for High Availability
A second AT-VGW-HW-T2 can be deployed as a hot standby, with automatic failover if the primary gateway goes offline. For mission-critical environments such as large corporate headquarters, government operations centers, or university campuses running continuous AV-dependent workflows, this redundancy means no single hardware failure can bring down the entire AV control infrastructure. The failover mechanism is network-based and requires no special cabling between the two units.

Calendar Integration for Room Scheduling
The scheduling engine integrates natively with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, and Astra Schedule. Room bookings made in the organization's existing calendar system are automatically reflected on Velocity touch panels at each room entrance — no separate booking system or manual synchronization required. This eliminates the most common friction point in room scheduling deployments: keeping the AV panel in sync with the calendar staff already use every day.

Enterprise-Grade Security Protocols
The AT-VGW-HW-T2 supports HTTP/2, HTTPS, SSH, SFTP, and WebSockets — all secured with TLS and AES-128 encryption. Role-based accounts can be created for integrators, client administrators, and AV-IT staff, each with clearly scoped access privileges. This granular access control matters in enterprise environments where the same system is touched by both the installing integrator during commissioning and the in-house IT team during daily operations — each party sees only what they need to.

Zero-Programming Browser-Based Configuration
The entire system — control logic, touch panel UIs, device management, and scheduling — is configured via a standard web browser with no proprietary programming software or scripting required. Pre-configured touch panel templates are available alongside fully customizable layouts, and room configurations can be duplicated across multiple rooms or sites in bulk. This significantly reduces commissioning time for large installations and lowers the skill barrier for future changes, so facility IT staff can handle minor adjustments without calling the integrator back.

Velocity Device Manager Included
The gateway ships with Velocity Device Manager, a centralized tool for discovering, configuring, and managing Atlona devices across the network. Firmware updates can be pushed to multiple devices simultaneously and scheduled for off-hours, and password credential updates can similarly be pushed to all devices at once. For large deployments with dozens of Atlona switchers, extenders, and control interfaces, this bulk management capability alone can save hours of work per firmware cycle.
