Velocity hardware gateway for AV control and room scheduling
Atlona AT-VGW-HW-T1
The Atlona AT-VGW-HW-T1 is a hardware gateway server for the Atlona Velocity control platform, combining AV system control, meeting room scheduling, and AV asset management in a single rack-mountable unit. Designed for integrators and technology managers working in corporate, education, and commercial environments, it enables browser-based configuration and deployment of control systems, scheduling touch panels, and networked AV devices — all without proprietary programming software. The T1 is the entry-level model in the current Velocity T-series hardware gateway lineup, making it well suited to smaller installations that benefit from Velocity's scalable architecture.

Dual Ethernet for Secure Network Isolation
The AT-VGW-HW-T1 features two independent Gigabit Ethernet ports (10-100-1000 Mb/s), enabling installers to physically separate the AV device network from the facility's main IT infrastructure. This is a critical requirement in corporate and educational environments where IT departments enforce strict network segmentation policies. Running AV traffic on a dedicated VLAN or physical segment prevents bandwidth contention with business-critical systems and eliminates common sources of AV network instability. For the end user, this means consistent, reliable control system response even during peak network usage — and a cleaner compliance story when engaging IT stakeholders.

Browser-Based Setup — No Proprietary Tools
Velocity gateways are configured entirely through a web browser — no dedicated programming software, dongle, or vendor-specific IDE is required. An integrator, tech manager, or technician can begin configuring rooms the moment the gateway is on the network. The GUI mirrors the interaction model of modern web and mobile applications, dramatically reducing the learning curve compared to traditional control system programming. In practice, a single-room AV control setup can be completed in minutes, and configurations can be cloned across rooms and sites — a significant time-saver for multi-room rollouts.

AV Control System Redundancy with Failover
The Velocity platform supports an active-standby architecture where a second VGW-HW unit serves as a backup. If the primary gateway goes offline — due to a hardware fault, network issue, or planned maintenance — the secondary takes over automatically without manual intervention. For corporate boardrooms, higher-education lecture theatres, or any venue where AV downtime directly impacts business operations, this redundancy capability removes a single point of failure from the control layer. Failover is built into the platform licensing, not an additional hardware module.

Integrated Room Scheduling Platform
Beyond AV control, the AT-VGW-HW-T1 also acts as the server for Velocity's room scheduling module, compatible with Google Workspace (G Suite) and Microsoft Office 365 calendar integrations. Meeting participants can check room availability and book spaces directly from Velocity touch panels or mobile devices without additional licensing. When a meeting starts or ends, Velocity can automatically trigger AV macros — powering up displays, setting sources, or shutting down the system — reducing user error and eliminating the need for manual AV startup procedures.

Velocity Device Manager Included
Every AT-VGW-HW-T1 ships with Velocity Device Manager, a network-based tool for centralised discovery, commissioning, configuration, and bulk firmware management of Atlona IP-controllable devices. Rather than managing each device individually, an integrator or IT manager can scan the network, see all Atlona devices at once, push firmware updates across the fleet, and monitor status in real time — all from a single interface. This substantially reduces the time cost of routine maintenance and is particularly valuable in multi-room or multi-site deployments.
