Outdoor pedestal modular base for digital signage
Chief ODMPB1
The Chief Velocity Outdoor Pedestal Modular Base (ODMPB1) is the ground-anchored foundation component of Chief's Velocity Outdoor Pedestal System, designed for permanent outdoor digital signage installations such as drive-thru menu boards, wayfinding kiosks, and multi-display signage arrays. It is intended for AV integrators and system designers working on quick-service restaurant, retail, and campus environments. The base enables a split installation workflow: electricians or general contractors can anchor and wire the base long before the AV team arrives to hang displays — eliminating costly scheduling conflicts on the jobsite. Rated to a maximum load of 430 kg, it accommodates single, dual, or triple display configurations and ships with three component storage panels, a mounting template, and an adapter plate.

Split-Phase Installation Saves Project Time
The ODMPB1 is engineered specifically to decouple the civil and AV phases of an outdoor signage project. The base can be ordered separately, delivered to site, and fully anchored and wired by an electrician or general contractor — weeks before the AV integrator arrives to hang the display frames. On large restaurant or retail rollouts where multiple trades need to coordinate, this separation avoids the costly scenario of having AV crews waiting idle while concrete cures or electrical rough-in is completed. The end result is a faster overall project completion, reduced labour cost, and less disruption to an operating business such as a drive-thru lane.

Permanent Concrete Anchoring for Outdoor Security
The base attaches to a concrete pad via either threaded rod or wedge anchors — both methods that resist tampering, wind loading, and vibration far beyond surface-level fastening. This matters in exposed outdoor environments (drive-thru lanes, forecourts, car parks) where the mounting system must survive vehicle proximity, wind gusts, and deliberate interference. Once set in concrete, the base provides a stable, level platform that eliminates flex in the display column above — important for maintaining zero-gap alignment in dual or triple display configurations. Three component storage panels built into the base keep media players, cabling, and power supplies enclosed and protected at ground level.

15-Degree Rotational Adjustment for Viewing Angle
After the base is anchored, the base plate allows up to 15 degrees of rotational positioning. This is a practical advantage on real sites: concrete pads are rarely poured at exactly the right orientation relative to the customer's approach path, and 15 degrees of adjustment means the AV team can correct for minor placement errors without breaking concrete or re-anchoring. For a drive-thru installation, this fine-tuning can be the difference between a display that faces drivers at the optimal angle and one that causes glare or readability issues during peak sunlight hours.

Modular Design Scales with Signage Needs
The ODMPB1 is the common foundation for the entire Velocity Outdoor Pedestal family — single (ODMB1X1), dual (ODMB2X1), and triple (ODMB3X1) display configurations all mount to this same base. Operators who start with a single menu board can expand to a dual or triple layout later without replacing the base, protecting the original installation investment. Optional accessories — including back covers for Samsung (ODMBCS) and LG (ODMBCLG) displays, and a speaker mount (ODMSA) — attach to the same system, enabling a fully integrated outdoor signage solution from a single manufacturer ecosystem.
