Cloud-based remote gateway management license, Tier 3
Atlona AT-VPS-RG-T3
The Atlona AT-VPS-RG-T3 is the Tier 3 annual license for Velocity Premier Services – Remote Gateway (VPS-RG), designed for the 20-room Velocity Hardware Gateway (AT-VGW-HW-20) and the Velocity Software Gateway (AT-VGW-SW). It enables dealers, system integrators, and AV/IT technology managers to remotely configure, manage, and control Velocity AV control systems from any browser-enabled device — without requiring access to the customer's corporate LAN. Cloud-based backups, a centralized dashboard for multi-gateway oversight, and built-in BYOD room control via QR code make it an essential remote service tool for large or geographically distributed installations.

Secure Cloud Remote Access Without VPN
VPS-RG uses patent-pending cloud technology to establish a secure proxy connection between Atlona's servers and the Velocity gateway. This creates a private, encrypted channel for direct remote access — without requiring the integrator or dealer to obtain VPN credentials, firewall rules, or any permissions on the client's corporate LAN. In practice this means a technician can log in from any device with a browser and internet connection — an office laptop, a tablet at another client site, or even a smartphone — and perform the same configuration and troubleshooting tasks available through the gateway's local web interface. For clients with strict IT security policies, this architecture is often the only politically acceptable remote-access method, removing a frequent blocker for managed service agreements.

BYOD Room Control via QR Code
VPS-RG enables end users to control a Velocity-managed room directly from their personal device — phone, tablet, or laptop — by scanning a QR code displayed in the room. The control interface is served over the user's own internet connection, meaning they never need to be connected to the AV LAN or the corporate Wi-Fi. For IT administrators this is a significant practical benefit: user control rights can be granted without opening the AV network to unmanaged personal devices, and there is no need to enrol devices on the corporate infrastructure. In educational or corporate environments with many casual users, this dramatically reduces the ongoing network administration overhead associated with room booking and AV control access.
Remote Velocity control. No LAN access needed. Any browser.

Cloud Backup and Fast Configuration Restore
VPS-RG stores both scheduled recurring and on-demand manual backups of the Velocity gateway configuration in the cloud. If a gateway fails, is replaced, or becomes misconfigured, the latest verified backup can be downloaded and restored immediately — without needing to dispatch a technician or reconstruct the configuration from scratch. For integrators managing systems across multiple buildings or campuses, this reduces the risk and cost associated with hardware failures and accelerates return-to-service time. The online dashboard gives a single view of backup status across all managed gateways, making compliance with maintenance SLAs straightforward to document.

Tiered Licensing Matched to Gateway Scale
VPS-RG is sold in three annually renewable tiers, each sized to the processing and data requirements of a specific Velocity gateway. Tier 1 (AT-VPS-RG-T1) covers the 3-room hardware gateway and the AT-VTPG-1000VL touch panel gateway; Tier 2 (AT-VPS-RG-T2) covers the 10-room hardware gateway; Tier 3 (AT-VPS-RG-T3) covers the 20-room hardware gateway (AT-VGW-HW-20) and the full software gateway (AT-VGW-SW). One license is required per gateway. This structure means customers only pay for the capacity level they actually deploy, and integrators can right-size the service to match each client's Velocity infrastructure without overspending on unused capacity.
