Chief AS3A101

The Chief AS3A101 is a dedicated video-sound bar mount designed for use with the Chief Tempo™ Flat Panel Wall Mount System (AS3LD). Purpose-built for AV integrators fitting out conference rooms, classrooms, and commercial display environments, it allows a soundbar to be cleanly integrated directly above or below any wall-mounted flat panel — without the need for separate wall fixings or improvised brackets. The mount features height adjustment, lateral positioning, and a lockable mechanism to keep the soundbar securely in place after installation. Included speaker adapters give extra mounting flexibility, and the height-adjustable bracket can be reconfigured to accommodate displays larger than 65 inches.

Flexible Above or Below Display Mounting

The AS3A101 can be positioned either above or below the flat panel on the Tempo wall mount rail, giving installers the freedom to place the soundbar exactly where room acoustics and sight lines demand. In a conference room, for instance, a soundbar mounted below the display keeps the camera shelf above the screen free — or vice versa. This flexibility is built into the mount itself without requiring additional adapters or custom fabrication, simplifying the design phase and reducing on-site improvisation.

Height Adjustment and Lateral Positioning

Once fitted to the Tempo rail, the height-adjustable bracket allows the soundbar to be fine-tuned vertically, and the mount also provides lateral adjustment for precise left-right centering beneath the display. This is particularly useful when the display is shifted from center on its mount, or when a wide soundbar needs to be centered relative to the screen rather than the wall structure. Both adjustments can be locked down after positioning, preventing accidental drift in high-traffic or public-facing environments.

Two Load Ratings for Different Soundbar Types

The AS3A101 supports up to 6,8 kg when the soundbar is attached via the included L-brackets, and up to 9,1 kg when mounted directly to the adapter bracket. This dual rating matters in practice: lighter consumer-grade soundbars will use the L-brackets, while heavier professional-grade units can be mounted directly to the rigid adapter bracket. Knowing the correct limit for each configuration prevents overloading and is critical information when specifying for larger, heavier commercial soundbars.

Reconfigurable for Large-Format Displays

For displays larger than 65 inches, the height-adjustable bracket can be disassembled and the extension bracket rotated 180° before being reassembled, effectively extending the overall reach of the mount. This means the same AS3A101 accessory works across a wide range of display sizes without requiring a separate, larger-format version — a practical advantage when a project mixes 55-inch and 75-inch screens across the same installation.

Lockable Design Prevents Displacement

All adjustment points on the AS3A101 can be locked down once the soundbar is correctly positioned. In commercial environments where displays and peripherals are subject to tampering or accidental contact — such as reception areas, retail floors, or public kiosks — a lockable mount prevents the soundbar from being nudged out of alignment or removed without tools. This keeps the AV system looking professional and reduces service callbacks.
